@southronlady Yup. I don't have unlimited time. I working against a schedule, hence the lack of patience on that gear at the moment. Expect it might clear up as they go back to school in the fall.

@southronlady Yeah the big free weight rigs are hogged by the young kids (20 somethings). I don't have the time/patience to wait on them to open up. The machines are always free. I also started using the machines just so I could get a sense quickly what my 1 RM was, and work backwards from...

@ridgerunner0 I already do mile loops 30-45 min around the neighborhood doing daily dog walking. That happens sun, rain, snow or whatever. Dogs need their biobreaks/daily walks regardless of how I may feel. I didn't include that above, and have now editted it to correct that.

@ridgerunner0 Hmm. Good point. Maybe I can modify my warmup to be 15 min bike and 15 min stationary rower.

@bethere Yeah. Everything is done to avoid excessive soreness. I can tweak the sets. My recovery is pretty good at the moment. I think I'm doing about 70% of 1RM. The bike riding is really to get endurance in the largest muscle group. I'm goal driven hence the desire to do longer rides. I'm...

@cosimnot Yes, I have thought about a rowing machine. I could likely get away with a bike at home on rollers and do that for daily cardio. (or just go to my local Y daily and get access to the rower there...). YMCA by me does have Trap Bar, so that is something I'd look at using. I'll look...

@euripetelynn Plus a giant beard to boot. Look like a Old Harley rider, minus the tattoos... :/ Actually an ex-kinesiology major here... :) No college close by, but the Y has strength training coaches I can start with and decide if I want to chase private coaching later. Trying not to go too...

@debro Deadlifts are on my radar, but I really would like some coaching on proper technique. I'm too tall to give myself back issues this late in life. Barbell squats: Again, good technique coaching needed. Plus they are always in use by the youngsters. Don't want to wait for them to open up...

@ray88c Yeah, I'm not one for stationary cardio, and I hate distance running (hammer toes) unless I am being chased/chasing something (ie soccer). I like riding in the outdoors, even if it is over 90f and humid out.
