    Body exercises for the obese?

@nickale Sled dragging. Get a used car tire, 3/8th eyebolt and nuts. Some nylon rope/ratchet straps, and diy a sled. Wedge a small price of 2x4 in the middle of the tire so you can put weight on it. 20-40lbs is a good start. Take to a park. Drag. Pretty simple. Front drag, backwards drag...

Are there any exercise more brutal than the horse stance?

@graced1257 Do the same thing but holding the top of a chin up, sternum to bar. Try for 1 minute. May take a year or so of practice to reach that.

Can You Build Muscle Effectively Using Calisthenics or Bodyweight Alone? A Look at the Science Surrounding Low-Load Resistance Training

@gewineda One of them isn't reading??? Btw, I don't downvote unless I think it's propaganda or bots/shills. So I won't downvote you. I'm not trying to get his view disappeared. Fitness is full of anecdotes and science is always behind in trying to figure out why certain things work.

New study on progressing REPs VS LOAD could have interesting implications on the Recommended Routine

@beaud20 Eventually with enough consistency, yes. Had a wrestling coach back in the day. Did Ironman events. Dude was a unit, 100 pushups was a warmup. I think he did rope climbs in his sleep. He never lifted weights. We got him to bench one day. He weighed near 180lbs but ramped up to 250...

An interesting Athlean X take on planks

@maninan It's one of those beginner exercises that got branded as the only ab exercise you need. Look at gymnasts, hanging straight leg raises to the face. But you have to have the grip and hamstring mobility to make that work and most people never train those.

Considering a new approach to strength and hypertrophy by implementing high rep training

@eian At first the very high rep stuff took two hours. I could have ramped up but just jumped in. After two months, it came down to about an hour, leg day was faster. Pullups is where rest time was needed most.

Considering a new approach to strength and hypertrophy by implementing high rep training

@brohoho I used to powerlift. Had decent but not super impressive numbers for my weight but I had fun. Really helped kickboxing. I noticed when my deadlift reached over 400lbs, no one liked being kicked by me anymore. Later I added very high rep calisthenics and cut the main lifts way back...
