Building an Outdoor Gym: Under $800 and 48 sqft, for all your BWF needs! (If you have access to a backyard space.)

@edegra Heights all based on what "felt" right. I have rings set up in my office (see my profile), so didn't have a need for another bar for rings.

@edegra I don't do anything to maintain, I figure its $70 each, when its time to replace I will replace. I'm genuinely impressed that the powder coating of the bars have lasted 5 yrs now, I could see another few years out of it.

@michaeljaywilcox I have 3 kids under 4, the 2 boys love playing on it and as long as it's not set up smack dab in the middle of a high traffic area they know and won't be running into it.

@mommyndbug This is where I got mine. Each cost $50 CDN which was a much better deal for me. There are other places you can get depending on where you're from, check your local fitness stores. Another popular place would be from Rogue which is available in Canada and US.

@dawn16 I wanted to be able to improve on my muscle ups and have rings to be hung higher and this was a "relatively" cheap option :)

@deebowser1223 You sure can. Speaking from experience, no issues after 1 year of use, these ring straps are tough. Also the straps are like $20, even if we have to replace it every few years, it's an investment we are willing to make for the gainz!

@debbiebayne No problem, good luck on your build. The 6x6 lumbers will last years. Every few years, i'll be re-staining it like a deck to make it last even longer.

@revllee If you have the means and space, you should try to build something. If not, I feel for ya. Appreciate you doing your part staying home. Be thankful that there's always some form of BWF exercises you can still do.

@dawn16 Thanks for the appreciation man, I fought pretty hard to get it. Fitness adds to the challenge of life. I hope you can take something away from that and just rock on, keep training.

@dawn16 You could say this is my forever gym :) I had the opportunity to design my house layout and build the gym that I wanted outside. This gym is very likely going to be 3 feet outside my house for a long time.

@solarflare The consistency in which you are applying your training and diet seem like they should show better results. Using myself as a reference point - I was once 125 and hit 155lbs from lifting, I trained less consistent, never counted calories, lifted for around the same time range as you...
