Help please! How much calories should i take for lean muscle gain?Is US navy method correct for body fat?

@jenfer It is pretty obvious that anything with high fiber content will eventually be hard to consume in excess. But at the same time, fructose sensitivity is a real thing. Furthermore, excess fiber intake can be detrimental as it may decrease absorption of essential nutrients and also...

How do y’all work on your shoulders on a PPL routine

@susiec First thing you should look into is if you’re engaging your shoulders in chest and triceps movements unnecessarily, you might want to look into your form. If you’re doing a bench press/dumbbell press or even machine press for that matter are you taking your elbows way back behind your...

Help please! How much calories should i take for lean muscle gain?Is US navy method correct for body fat?

@jenfer Saturated fat is stable under heat, and overall ghee has high smoking point. But cholesterol is not a stable structure, it has multiple double bonds, cholesterol doesn’t wait for smoking point to hit before it starts oxidising. Also, pretty much no oil is safe considering the typical...

Help please! How much calories should i take for lean muscle gain?Is US navy method correct for body fat?

@jenfer A big no for using ghee in cooking. Has cholesterol which oxidises easily which forms oxysterols, and oxysterols are linked with cancer heart stroke pretty often. Yes it has higher amount of saturated fat as well. Can be used as a topping on prantha/roti/dal etc but avoid cooking in it

@beachydeb The studies maybe old, but these are high quality Randomised control trials. All the new studies now are mostly soy industry focused. I can go in detail about this if you like.

Which one is neutral grip pulldown?

@ayn Number 1 is what I meant by neutral grip pull-down. But my intent of recommending this exercise is for you to target you lats which will not be the case if you do it like it is shown in the picture. You would want to keep your elbows closer to the body for better lat engagement. I’ll...

Help please! How much calories should i take for lean muscle gain?Is US navy method correct for body fat?

@katay Start with eating around 2000-2200 calories. 100-120 grams of protein with at least 80 grams from complete, quality sources (meat, chicken, fish, dairy, eggs, whey) Have carb sources which digest you well. Cook food in quality oil (olive oil, mustard oil, coconut oil) Eat green...

    My views on Soybean/Soya Chunks

@mercymaid Please provide evidence or point me towards limitations in the evidence I shared. I will be more than happy to have a civil discussion. Yes it has estrogen and for some it might be problematic, the timing of when a cow is milked also influences the amount of estorgen it will have...

    My views on Soybean/Soya Chunks

@ngocthanh2015 Yes, but the question is to what extent? We cannot compare overnight soaking of soya chunks to overnight soaking of chickpeas/dal. Because of the high amount of anti nutrients present in Soya chunks. Also, soaking reduces the protein and vitamin mineral content of soy as well...

@kobestutri You're most welcome. I didn't know the anti greek yogurt views of this sub. Didn't come across any comment like that. It is an excellent product, digests well, helps in increasing gut microbes and provides good amount of protein. Plus it's tasty.

Had a disaster at the gym

@jesus4ever Cramps after 6 months of ignoring a muscle is pretty predictable and normal. If this becomes a regular occurring then you can consider having an electrolyte drink during your workout. Also, on the nutritional end, make sure you are having adequate amount of magnesium, calcium and...

    My views on Soybean/Soya Chunks

@kobestutri The reason for Milky mist greek yogurt having more protein could very well be because they "processed" it to be that way. Processing is not a bad thing. How the processing is done is what matters. This is how Greek yogurt is "processed"...
