Help! Can’t get rid of cellulite on my thighs and bum

@corinth77777 Cellulite is a real toss up. Some people see a visible reduction as they cut body fat and increase muscle mass, but ultimately there is no picking where your body decides to burn fat. You may get to low and healthy overall body fat and still see it because that’s where and how...

5’3” ladies over 30, what are your maintenance calories and activity level?

@freds 🤗 He said he’s in love with you.

5’3” ladies over 30, what are your maintenance calories and activity level?

@chucklez So it's tough to give a good timeline for my experience. I first started this in 2019 and was making pretty quick progress in the gym and steadily adding calories. I felt GREAT during the process too, more energy than I'd ever had. But then during early pandemic times anxiety was...

5’3” ladies over 30, what are your maintenance calories and activity level?

@freds I'm 33, ~118 lbs, maintaining at 2000. My macros are 125 P, 200 C, 78 F. I lift 3-5 times a week and do HIIT 1-3 times a week, generally I'm in the gym 6 days a week. I'm also generally active; I walk the dog twice a day, walk to get coffee or groceries when the weather allows for it, try...

    Taking the L for Halloween

@monicachere Honestly I eat chocolate basically daily, but a small portion. I’m a snob about it too so it’ll be fancy stuff with a fancy price tag. Compared to what I enjoy regularly, I don’t find the mass marketed holiday candies very tempting at all. Valentine’s sometimes gets me a little...

    Where to shop

@stephen583 I shop everywhere and I get my clothes tailored as needed. Expecting things to fit me exactly the way I want them to right off the rack is setting myself up for a huge amount of frustration. Less clothes of better fit and quality works really well for me.

Bad follow up dexa scan, where to go from here

@jamsie And my point isn’t about the equipment at all, it’s that the people using it don’t have the knowledge base to even know whether or not what they’re using is accurate or if it’s being used appropriately.

Bad follow up dexa scan, where to go from here

@jamsie Right so my comment was that this information isn’t coming from people I feel have the credentials to be giving it out with any reliable measure of accuracy, and I stand by that. Outside of hydrostatic weighing and MRIs (which are available in very few places for the purpose of elective...

Bad follow up dexa scan, where to go from here

@jamsie ?? Is there no one running the machine? Doing maintenance/calibration? Edit since you edited your comment which was previously just “It’s a computer program” idk where you live but you absolutely have to have certification in my state to use both x-ray and CT scan machinery.

    Inbody and fat

@nguyentrongphuoc I honestly really doubt your body fat percentage is that low, you would be very visibly lean. These scans are notoriously inaccurate. That said, if you’re looking for a more “firm” appearance it would not be a bad idea to increase your intake a bit and do some resistance training.

Bad follow up dexa scan, where to go from here

@mellerd OP’s body fat is objectively not 31%. I would bet anything on it. I’ve said it under other posts, these scans are not reliable and they’re not even being done by anyone I would consider sufficiently credentialed to be giving out this kind of information.

Women who don’t bloat / gain weight / feel weak before or during their periods…

@freds I bloat a little before my period and I’m likely to want to catch an afternoon nap the first couple days of my period but I don’t feel different with respect to how much I can lift at any point in my cycle. The only thing I think I do that’s even a little bit different than some other...

    Vent …. I feel hopeless

@stevensloan Do you track your food? Once you know what you eat on a regular basis, you can start finding ways to increase your intake without eating until you feel sick. Even adding 100 calories a day to your maintenance can help you put on 10 lbs within a year. That's just one tablespoon of...

Sometimes…it just comes down to grit🤷🏾‍♀️

@jodi1028 I love that for her, but that still doesn't give her the right to make sweeping generalizations about other people and their situations. In America especially, obesity is very much a systemic issue and I think we aren't doing anybody any favors when we try to alienate those affected by...

Sometimes…it just comes down to grit🤷🏾‍♀️

@jodi1028 I think what a lot of us are dealing with is influencer fatigue. These are now people whose entire lives/careers revolve around their bodies looking a certain way, so it's kind of impossible to not roll our eyes when they make it out like everyone else who doesn't look like them just...

Period cravings: I just ate 4 chocolate bars and I’m ok with it

@mustang4christ Take 5’s are so chaotic lol but I get the vibe. Have you tried the Justin’s peanut butter cups? The chocolate is so dense, it has changed everything I thought I knew.

Weight lifting makes me irritable (but running doesn’t)

@hopeeternal Ultimately whatever you can stick with long term is going to mean better results. Also, I’m just not a proponent of doing things that make you miserable when alternatives are available.
