@ronaldsaved I see what you mean, it’s not necessarily they way all black girls are, it’s just the people that I happen to be surrounded by, at least on social media.

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@seeker24 That’s so great! After all the advice I’ve gotten I think this may be the next step for me to take too. Even just thinking about getting rid of my Instagram with all those things feels relieving. 🧡

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@dawn16 You’ve summed up how I feel perfectly I think a lot of it does have to do with my age. There’s things I had FOMO about when I was younger but I’m perfectly fine not doing now I do have some friends that have started working out because of the progress I made which is really cool...

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@sevenjay I agree, I think maybe I need to vary my social spaces a bit. How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@dawn16 A few, mostly online from the workout program I use. The city I live in (or at least my gym) has mainly elderly people, and I try to make friends with other girls in the gym my age but they’re usually just starting out so I don’t have a lot to talk to them about, and I think sometimes...

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@ashish_nanda Thank you! You’re right, since I changed my lifestyle I feel happy more often than I did before, and I have more energy and I’m able to get more done It’s not even that I miss the community or guys complimenting me, it’s just feeling bad that I don’t want that anymore. Not sure...

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@outpouring I agree about UTM helping too! I’ve made friends there that are all different kinds of people, and I don’t feel any kind of way about myself around them at all. The problem was more on Instagram, where the vast majority of people I follow are my friends that are the bad bitch type...

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

@unrepentantunforgiven I think a lot of people in all different races relate to the body issue thing, of like how people in your race usually look. That’s great you’ve found a way to distance yourself from the expectations :) it’s easy to say you want to but it can be hard to implement for the...

How do I stop feeling bad as black girl about no longer being ‘thicc’, partying, drinking, etc?

This doesn’t have a lot to do with fitness, but since becoming fit is what’s made me the way I am now, I figured people on this sub might relate and be able to give me some advice. A few years ago, I used to be the kind of girl who was always taking Instagram pictures, I was ‘thick’ (albeit a...
