How do you pump yourself up to go hard?

@allthingsarebecomenew Exercise is a life-long habit. Half-assing it is a lot better than nothing! There are times when we won't have the time or energy to go hard and that is okay! If you can't make your schedule work, maybe some external structure will help like doing fun classes. But...

How getting fit has changed your life

@hlb I think instead of fighting your impatience you should find ways to workout that you enjoy. Dance classes, martial arts, rock climbing, hiking, long walks with the dog, yoga, whatever. TO be healthy, you just need to MOVE. you don't need a perfect workout scheduled. Moving in ways you enjoy...

Recurring injuries getting in the way of my progress - aging, or something missing from my diet?

@jamie2 Avocados + avocado oil, nuts + seeds + their butters, olives + olive oil are all excellent for you! Those are my "green light" fats. My "yellow light" fats are more saturated: coconut, coconut oil/cream/milk, cacao + dark chocolate, vegan butters.

Recurring injuries getting in the way of my progress - aging, or something missing from my diet?

@jamie2 Sounds like you are overtraining. From your diet comment, you didn’t mention any fats. You need high quality fats to keep your body healthy and absorb fat-soluble nutrients.

Was always starving in the morning after eating breakfast and finally took a look at the amount of protein I was getting

Quitting sugar --- healthy or too restrictive?

@jesse1354 I try to save my sugar for when it's worth it. Shitty grocery store cake or cheap donuts at work? Not worth it. Extra delicious homemade cheesecake? Worth it. I try to cut out all incidental sugar - no sugar in my coffee, no jam, none of this kind of little bits of sugar that it's...

The TDEE calculator says I should be consuming 1230 cals a day to lose weight. I’m 26F 5’2” 125lb, is this sustainable or realistic?

@adriana28 1230 is too low for a person with your activity level; you’re setting yourself up to overeat/binge and restrict/binge cycles are the way to an eating disorder… Eat a higher level you can sustain. Even if you lose slowly, it’ll be faster than you’re losing now! I would try 1500/day...
