@orthodoxlady1994 I definitely don't think she's making a worse decision than someone who takes a year or two off to go on a working trip around the world. And if my son said 'Dad, I want to take two years to travel before I start college' I'd be completely supportive of that.

@bynet I'd argue that the five to ten years ago that they were doing that was a very different competitive landscape than today. For the obvious example in 2009 Annie Thorisdottir learned to do ring muscleups on the competition floor, but still finished 11th overall. These days I don't think...
