Three years vegan. I feel about the same as I did when I wasn't a vegan

@flyingforjesus I feel pretty much the same as you. I don’t do it for health and I don’t think it’s affected me health or performance wise much if at all

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@mathewbailey08 Totally. I’d also say training and nutrition for more traditional sports has a lot more scientific research available than strength and hypertrophy so it would be awesome to see people able to discuss that here! Just not my area of expertise, go tell all your friends to sub haha

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@mathewbailey08 Lol I saw you replied to me but it got deleted! In terms of getting more varied content on here, I don’t have any suggestions, but I think removing all the useless posts so people feel like they can come here to learn would be a good start

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@godswill1 Yeah I was literally just typing out the same thing lol. Who do we talk to to get it going here?!? /@mrblonde /@danny93 /@aines /@ghy1221 thoughts?

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@godswill1 Yeah totally fair! I think personally even having something like a daily thread for asking simple questions would help it not feel so overwhelming to me if that makes sense

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@godswill1 I guess I just see a lot of really low effort “what protein do you use” questions where the OP doesn’t add any value and it’s something that gets asked like 10x per week. It is helpful to learn about new products and stuff but the kind of posts I’m talking about are ones that could be...

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@godswill1 Re: first paragraph, I think OP is saying the opposite - this sub is filled with posts asking really basic things like “what protein powder do you use” or progress pics without any useful information. There are some useful threads but the average quality is pretty low and certainly...

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@jonathanxr Yep totally on the same page about that lol

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@jonathanxr No worries I’m not taking any offense! Just want to have the open discussion. If I’ve come across as confrontational it wasn’t intentional at all. The disagreement on my end is that there are many different types of fitness and “health” isn’t necessarily always the goal. In the...

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@jonathanxr I’m not sure if we are saying the same thing or not - I’m saying the people who fall in the first category should be considered under the umbrella of “fitness”, not JUST the second. The sub should be a place to discuss fitness, for a broad definition of the word, for people of all...

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@francisfrancisco Another idea I had would be to allow users some kind of mod-verified flair like they have in /r/weightroom. Users can tag what they do and their level. Would help weed out people who are just posting useless not-really-fitness content. CC /@jonathanxr

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@francisfrancisco definitely agree with that - I know /r/bodybuilding does recurring threads like Newbie Tuesday’s, Training Thursday’s, Foodie Friday’s etc. Could be a good model to follow

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@jonathanxr I’m all for better content and moderation but I guess the issue I have with your proposed changes is that your definition of “fitness” is way too strict. If you go over to /r/fitness there are all different levels of people with different interests and as a catch-all sub we should be...

When are we actually going to start talking fitness?

@jonathanxr What’s your definition of fitness? Powerlifting is a form of fitness. Fitness isn’t only body composition and it’s also not only nutrition. You can be fit while eating mock meats. I do agree though the basic questions are pretty out of hand and there are way too many selfies of...
