Most Trainees Lift Too Far Away From Failure (discussion)

@brock I’ve heard this too. But if I can’t perform another rep, then I bang out some rest pause sets and partials, I’m pretty sure that must be failure ?

Whats your normal rep drop off between sets? Does it change for each exercise? Interested to hear if this varies for different people

@lovely_krystal86 Some like Jeff nippard advocate only pushing the last set to failure. 1st set RPE 8, second set RPE 9, last set RPE 10. Reps would never really drop off that way. But you are still getting effective reps. Many ways to skin a cat

Going to failure VS chasing the pump VS volume

@robrandazzo I try to do 2 main compounds per workout where I try to progressively overload the top sets. The rest of the exercises that session (the isolations) I chase the pump. Seems to be a good balance for me

Question thread for our AMA with Alberto Nuñez of 3DMJ!

@paparazi257 Why do you program an upper/ lower split (in boostcamp) vs a traditional bodybuilding split? It doesn’t seem like a lot of volume and doesn’t adhere to the 10-20 sets per week per muscle as commonly recommended. Thanks

What is your favorite four-day split?

@jlrodriguez My go-to is Push-Pull-legs-Arms. You can really use the fourth day to get extra volume on any lagging part , I.e shoulders etc
