My first DEXA scan results with photos! [28F/5'2''/108 lbs/27.3% body fat]

@3john3 Hmm I don't know, a couple other women on Reddit (example 1,example 2) who had DEXA scans also scored around 27% bodyfat and I don't think I look less fat than them.

My first DEXA scan results with photos! [28F/5'2''/108 lbs/27.3% body fat]

@ademide To be honest I've always had thin calves. I actually wish mine were less thin because it's near impossible to find boots that fit me...they all sag.

@ademide Np, my calves: 12.5 inches. Thighs: 20 inches. Hope this helps!

My first DEXA scan results with photos! [28F/5'2''/108 lbs/27.3% body fat]

@ademide You're welcome! Once I used one of those Omron handheld fat analyzers at the gym...and it told me I was 13.5%!

@numenorian No worries. It's true we all hold fat differently! Many of my friends think I'm strong/fit. However I can say that when I was heavier (and I'm assuming, fatter) it does show...so it's not like I always look lean either :)

My first DEXA scan results with photos! [28F/5'2''/108 lbs/27.3% body fat]

@numenorian It sounds like the DEXA would be enlightening for you. My boyfriend also got a DEXA and scored 27% and does not look fat, so I just feel in general that DEXA yields higher scores than what people expect both visually and based on other body fat measurement methods.

@dedicatedqueenie Was your % measured with DEXA too? I'd be really curious to see! I have not seen a scan from someone shorter than me.

DEXA w/ photos and videos [5'4.5"/115lbs/25.8%]

@amw88 Thanks for sharing your earlier post! I was a bit shocked that others were so shocked at my results, and that post helps to verify DEXA results in higher BF% for most.

DEXA w/ photos and videos [5'4.5"/115lbs/25.8%]

@ruky Thanks for bringing this up about standards for lean body mass. I'm curious about this too as this was a huge concern of redditors for my results too. However on page 2 of my readout it said I have 6.17 kg/m2 Relative Skeletal Muscle Index, which is over the recommended value of 5.45 for...

@ruky Thanks! Hopefully eventually these misconceptions of what body fat %s look like will be shattered.

@jacob9 It's definitely unhealthy. I just really like it and drink it maybe 2-3 times a week.

DEXA w/ photos and videos [5'4.5"/115lbs/25.8%]

@ruky Yes, this truck services my area so I'm planning on doing it once a year. I think it's fun and motivating. The scale, body measurements, and blood results from physicals always just tell me I'm healthy, and while I like that, it can get boring. I think of this (knowing that I'll have such...

DEXA w/ photos and videos [5'4.5"/115lbs/25.8%]

@ruky I see, I didn't upload all my pages but received some pretty cool information including that about my muscle mass in my arms/legs, bone density (mine was good), metabolic rate, and muscle imbalances in my limbs. I just like data :) Anyway it's been suggested that ethnicity could be...

@ruky FYI, I noticed they scanned you as a White female which could be less accurate because of differences in algorithms (e.g., taking in account average hydration).
