One gram of protein per pound? How?

@sonofstephen Yeah probably, maybe it’s a tiny bit higher than my maintenance right now.

One gram of protein per pound? How?

@sonofstephen Depends on the day. I usually aim for at least 3,200 or so, but if I want to gain weight I think around 3,500 might be more appropriate. For context, I’m 5’9.5” and about 163lbs, with a good amount of activity on most days of the week. Always been skinny my whole life, it’s hard to...

Animal-free whey protein is on the market now!

@dubschanging I’ve tried it. Zero stomach issues. I accidentally drank milk in a coffee a while ago, after only about 8 months vegan, and I had diarrhea. But now, after a year and a half vegan, no issues with this whey.

One gram of protein per pound? How?

@drobbyb So, if getting 1g/lb is really difficult for you, you would almost certainly be fine with 0.82g/lb, as long as that protein comes mostly from high quality sources (some plant proteins are a bit lower quality). 1150 cal oatmeal, 55+ g protein, nutrient packed!

@lawrence7 i would actually not recommend a meal like this if you have trouble getting down a bunch of food. what worked well for me was consuming liquid calories. put nearly the same ingredients in a blender, blend it up into a smoothie, and you can get it down much easier.

1150 cal oatmeal, 55+ g protein, nutrient packed!

@summerwillow you could get rid of the calorically dense ingredients (like the nuts and seeds) and it would be much fewer calories. plus, oatmeal tends to fill people up real well, so it would be perfect on a cut, to keep you full despite the lower calories.
