What are some simple things you all do to improve your fitness?

@viren Usually I do it on my mat before bed because my husband goes to bed before I do. But I've done the bed yoga especially during longer jags of depression with some success.

What are some simple things you all do to improve your fitness?

@rodneys On this note, I added maybe 15 minutes of yoga+about 5 minutes of reflection/meditation to my nightly routine and it helps me sleep much better. I googled yoga for sleep for some poses to get me started.

    Transformation after 30

@catd You look amazing! All your hard work has certainly paid off. In my 20s I flirted with lifting but my real love was running. I didn't think I really could ever have any decent strength and even when I the military my pushups and situps were of the"just do what you need to pass" variety...

Was it dangerous to bail out of my squat with my hair like this? (See image)

@johnmarsten I would keep some pithy and scathing comments in your pocket for the next time he tries to touch you - or any other dude at the gym for that matter. Fwiw that's how I've had my hair many times when back squatting. The baby hairs that got caught once caused a bit of discomfort but...

I hate to say it…all of the pull-up advice on this sub is 100% correct

@ashleye23 Congrats! This is a timely thread for me as I just got my pull up resistance bands in the mail today. My negatives and chin ups have been going well but I think it's a mechanics issue with actually pulling up from the bottom. I'm actually kind of scared to start in the morning. 🙃

Deadlift alternative - avoid back pain

@bandan Hex bar is where it's at! It places less stress on the lower back than straight bar deadlifts since your center of gravity stays closer to the body.

New Year’s Resolution & 2024 Fitness Goals Megathread

@nathan2018 I really enjoyed reading everyone's goals and how they faired in 2023. I hope that it's a healthy and happy year for everyone! My goals for 2023 were really just staying consistent. But as written they were: Bench 140, 150 cardio minutes a week, 30 zone minutes daily, at least 6...

[Progress Post]F/34/5'6": An overview of 11 months of weightlifting 4-6days a week

@stm113 YES! And if she continues, just eat her on your next bulk. ;) I also want you to know you inspired me to ask my adult son to take a pic of my back. I felt silly but now I have some photo evidence. :)

[Progress Post]F/34/5'6": An overview of 11 months of weightlifting 4-6days a week

@stm113 Your hard work really shows! I really appreciate you taking the time to write it all up. I remember you mentioning your mom's attitude towards your physique and getting so angry for you. Hopefully she backs off some.

    I did it! 205 lbs x 2 deadlift

@inlovewithmybestfriend Way to go! The hex bar is great for me with my history of low back issues. It's always nice to see someone else out there who appreciates it.
