Ok so I’m (20F) relatively new to working out, been consistent for around a month now. I’m 5’8” with a weight that fluctuates from 130-140 and I’m trying to lose fat and build a little muscle here and there. My old PR is 160, not too shabby for a beginner. So one day I’m headed to the gym after class and decide to get an iced coffee from Wawa on the way (Wawa is a Central Eastern American gas station that is famous for coffee).
Anywho, I arrive at the gym, quick warmup, and my first stop is leg press. I cannot stress the importance of this next part enough. I set my height to 2 on the machine and go for my usual 160. It’s hella easy. So I go up to 180, then 200, then 220, UP TO 260. I grind out 4 sets of 12 and mind you my gym has a mirror next to the machine so I KNOW I’m in correct form. I’m not dropping the weights and I’m letting the distance between the 2 weight get to like a half inch apart before I do another rep. I know for a fact I’m in the right form. Weirdly strong for the rest of my workout then go home, thoroughly shocked. I come back to the gym today and I can’t go past 160 again.
My question is WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME??? How I do that??? Did wawa coffee give me superpowers or something?
