@bellsmom The recommended age for resistance training is 7 years old. Don't be silly with saying people need to wait until they're 16.
They'll be both mentally and physically healthier if they develop a routine with the gym now then if they were to wait.
Sincerely a coach who specializes in...
@johng1968 Yeah, everyone has to eat more than their BMI to maintain weight. BMI is the number BEFORE taking in consideration ANY movement. BMI measures the maintenance calories if you were a vegetable in bed who couldn't move.
@johng1968 Just because you don't want to spend money on food and/or cook doesn't mean you have a fast metabolism. It literally means you don't eat enough.
@rumiakthar They do. By about the amount of a small cookie. Maybe even two small cookies. That's what they mean by it being a myth.
The amount is so small that it barely makes a difference.
@rumiakthar They ate a lot and didn't move a lot with great effort over time.
Outside of rare disorders and diseases that affect less than 1% of the population this covers 99+% of people.
They even have scientific laws about it. The laws of thermodynamics!
@charls7 It wasn't an article. It was a 10+ hour podcast of the leading fitness researcher in the world analyzing every study done on the subject. It was extremely well put together talking about the good and bad data collected.
I can guarantee you big artificial sugar wasn't paying him off...
@trevorodhiambo Stronger by science just did some really great episodes about this.
You'd have to drink like 40 diet sodas a day for it to be cancerous and that was in rats.
You should give it a listen! It was listed on the same line item as fruit for cancer risk.
@harmony77 Yeah, hope that works out for you. Sometimes you don't need to change up your diet too much, the small changes make a decent difference.
For future reference all fat free dairy has more protein and less calories. (Milk, cheese, etc...)
@harmony77 Do you like steak? I eat steak and eggs for breakfast almost daily. I love it.
That meal gets me 40-50 grams of protein alone.
Also, fat free Greek yogurt is 18 grams per 90 calories. (Fage brand)
@sorayeth Never said otherwise, sorry you've interrupted it that way.
Luckily even though you quoted me I still haven't equated it as the same to anything. I was asking for clarification on what makes this the choice, especially when we all actively make decisions daily with MORE side effects...
@mnh84647 Sure you can. In fact, they have protocols and medication that will help you come back off of everything it into your regular levels.
I never said it wasn't a big decision. Never even hinted towards that!
@mjr1980 You rely on things you don't need all day every day.
Why is this one important compared to the other things you actively choose to rely on that you don't need?
