Time and time again the guys adding the most LBM/density are the ones focused on moving big loads (regardless of rep range)

@ckp737 So that's like 3 sets per muscle group per week? Low volume no doubt.

@hafelemyhome The best way is to just switch over to a good proper hypertrophy routine and following it to a t instead of making one yourself letting your bias take over. Here are some good ones: PHUL, Helm's Intermediate, and PHAT.

@ckp737 It would help if you put numbers on "low volume", what you mean by "high intensity" and what split he uses for "3x/w" training. There absolutely are people who got great results with low volumes, like someone I follow, Jeff Alberts. The person OP cited tho doesn't use neither low volume...

@paparazi257 Q4Both: In our sport, the off-season may be the most straightforward phase we go through, on the other hand must of us, even the pros with the most experience under their belt, struggle when in comes to the contest prep. Which lessons have you learned that have made a big...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 7/1/2019

@snowbird27 Yeah it can very well be that, it's the typical change in visuals from the front you get from internal/external rotation at the shoulders: more/less rounded delt as the peak of the middle deltoid's curve gets more tangent to the line of sight, and the same with the lateral head of...

Time and time again the guys adding the most LBM/density are the ones focused on moving big loads (regardless of rep range)

@mcolley10 Yeah that's why I don't like when people just use the terms "high/low volume" and "high/medium/low intensity" without specifying numbers or definitions, because then everyone mean different things but argue about the title regardless, so the argument never gets anywhere.

@paparazi257 Q4Both: Do you find that besides following your instructions, that your clients are eager to also learn the theory behind what they do, especially considering the weight of your credentials? Or are they happy to just follow?

@snowbird27 No I wasn't talking about some issue to fix, just the position you where in the moment the picture was taken.

@fender75 This smells like confirmation bias. Let's dissect the post: Starting with the picture, if you account for angles and lighting, the change is there but it isn't huge. 13 lbs, 3 years.⁣⁣ Very relevant. HighER, not high. ⁣And which type of intensity: relative, absolute, or effort...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 7/1/2019

@snowbird27 I think it's just posture and lighting. You can see it better at your elbows, but your right arm seems to be more internally rotated than your left arm, that's it. This is why posing matters lol.

Question thread for our AMA with Dr. Brandon M Roberts and Dr. Peter J Fitschen starting Wednesday April 15th!

@paparazi257 Q4Both: As someone who's involved in science, I see that when it comes to researchers and the material they put out, the state pretty much around the world in many fields (not necessarily this one) is that they are "forced" to follow a certain rate of publications in a given time...

Weekly Question Thread - Week of 7/1/2019

@maayaa That's great. For your case I think the best would be to use an upper/lower program like PHUL (use the higher set numbers), the only difference is it will take you a little over a week to finish the training week, but that's not a big deal at all. For clarification I'm saying to do it...

@grace_chaser Great analysis. Reminds me of when people argue about Dorian Yates supposedly using low volume, but what he was actually doing is what you describe here.
