Please don’t kip in your handstand push ups

@channel7 Your words are all I have and in this reply you make absolutely zero effort to address what should be the slow component of a strict handstandpushup. I also can't see any missrepresentation in what I said. Slow reps and fast reps are within a same gradient, they're not split apart by...

Please don’t kip in your handstand push ups

@channel7 I don't disagree as much as I see some contradiction in: Being a Crossfit coach since 2013 and advocating against kipping; Advocating exclusively against kipping in the HSPU. Kipping in bar movements is much more dangerous to the shoulders than kHSPU, even worse under exhaustion, and...

Calculating how much the games athletes won

@dawn16 because of the return they provide.

Calculating how much the games athletes won

@dawn16 It's the market who dictates how much they win. Tbf players of popular sports also don't get THAT much in prize money. Most of their money comes from salary/sponsors.

1000 lb club sub 4:30 mile same day - possible?

@jadex Exactly. I feel like people are completely dismissive of how much bodyweight plays a role in extremely opposite ways for both feats. Someone who’s built and trained for an easy 4:30 mile would have to put a considerable effort to hit 1000lbs Likewise, a bit above average joe who only...

What does r/fitness not understand about CrossFit?

@stillsearchinggod If Crossfit becomes a sport it’s evident that there’ll be sport specific techniques. And that’s another current issue with Crossfit. Is it a methodology, a brand or a sport? Every technique specific to a sport is a “gamification” of it. The Fosbury Flop is a “gamification”...

What does r/fitness not understand about CrossFit?

@stillsearchinggod I disagree. I have several issues with Crossfit, butterfly pull-ups aren’t one of them. In my opinion they’re just like squat snatches or hip contact in weightlifting. A more efficient way to perform a task with a considerably higher athletic floor to perform. Only one...

what’s everyone’s go-to (lame) joke at the gym?

@elsiejo As a coach at the end of an intense wod: What’s up with you guys, I didn’t even break a sweat Lmao

1000 lb club sub 4:30 mile same day - possible?

@ironside And Usain Bolt ran 100m in 9.58s so obviously runs 1km in 1’30”?

How Should Crossfit Balance Its Two Competing Cultures?

@christhasrisen2000 Even more I’d say. If it was literally 200USD converted to BRL it’d be more expensive, it’d be about 1000BRL, at the average rates it’s 300-350BRL. Sounds cheap in dollars but that’s about 15% of an average house income.

Calculating how much the games athletes won

@rentalman I agree with you, I'm being ironic. He's calling them elite exercisers because Crossfit consists of...exercises, without much specificity on them. I drew a comparison with OlyLifting, that's literally lifting weights and T&F that is literally just running or jumping.

1000 lb club sub 4:30 mile same day - possible?

@faithfamilyfreedom There’s nothing genetic about a 4:30mi, you’re probably just too heavy. I have very similar times to yours, but I’m 205lbs, have a 145lbs kid in my box that ran a 45min 10k in…1 month of running 3x/wk? Weight is just too big of a deal in anything over 200m.

How Should Crossfit Balance Its Two Competing Cultures?

@christhasrisen2000 Crossfit/functional fitness as a sport only has to benefit from dissociating with HQ. In a micro perspective, box owners already do what’s in their best interest, there’s no reason to expect any sort of standardization from boxes all over the world. The truth is the growth...

    Wallstreet Weightlifter Brand New Interview

@maddieh567 What would you rather it be? Shoe suggestions and Instagram drama? lol It's not like the sport is ultra-active where we have a lot of good content to discuss.

Calculating how much the games athletes won

@aihi TIL OlyLifters, and pretty much everyone in T&F aren't athletes, just exercisers. lol Can't disagree with the second part, though.

    Wallstreet Weightlifter Brand New Interview

@tracyx4 Idk what you’re talking about. Isn’t every 5’8” dad in your neighborhood 255lbs of muscle?
  19. O

Please don’t kip in your handstand push ups

@dawn16 That's like changing snatches and cleans to muscle snatches and muscle cleans. You do you, and I see a whole lot of merit in performing strict movements instead of their kipping variations, just be careful because that's an easy way to overload your muscles. WODs with kipping exercises...

"Another Banned Athlete Competes at Non-licensed Competition"

@jeannieg That's way too much work for HQ. lol Why would you do anything like this when you can just collect the yearly fee, collect another fee for those who want to hold licensed events and then just blame the unlicensed for having their own rules?
