Deadlift alternative - avoid back pain

@bandan Romanian deadlifts or kettlebells swings both teach and train the hinge pattern pretty well.

Can't lose weight on 1500 calorie diet

@crosswise Either the scale is moving or it's not. If it's not moving, you've got too many calories for your energy expenditure. Sucks, but that is life. It's not just your workout it's the rest of your life, how much do you move around during the day (NEET), all those little walks add up...

Need some help finding a program

@lucy97 Ah yeah that's why I said adjustable, you can get like 8-32kg adjustables as a pair and you are then pretty much set for life.

Can I get fit with only minimal outside gym?

@layla I don't think so because it depends entirely on your equipment. I took a "standard" training program and translated the movement patterns and then worked out how to make it harder each week without necessarily adding weight. I like 5/3/1, tactical barbell, the Hardstyle kettlebell...

Drawing up a 3 day full body routine for myself, would appreciate suggestions

@godisworking101 For me, that would be too many exercises in a session and I'd be completely ruined by the end. I can't get past more than 5-7 things. By the time you've done bench, squat, RDL and chins on Monday you must be pretty toast

    Risk v reward

@ttcmacro Right now I'm enjoying front squat and RDL as lower stress, but still very effective, versions of those movement patterns. You don't have to do the powerlifts.

I cant lift more than 10 kilos in bicep curls. It’s been like this for 8 months

@vincentleo The point is that doing compound movements will give you the strength to do curls better. There's no point doing curls if your pull ups and rows are shite. They'll also grow your arms more.

Can I get fit with only minimal outside gym?

@layla You can get super goddamn fit with no equipment at all, everything you have access to and the surrounding environment is a bonus. Look at the movement patterns and find the best movements to train those patterns with what you have around you. Squat, hinge, pull, push, stabilise.

    Looking for some fitness advice

@path89 Do whatever workout makes you happy, as long as you are lifting some weights and doing some cardio it's all good. The body composition will be down to your diet from there.

    Workout focus question

@ashnarrowistheway Workout programs are usually set up in weeks, but it doesn't mean you have to do all the sessions in one week. Just do the next session from your program, it'll be fine. I've seen people split a 4 day program over 2 weeks.

@vincentleo Can you do pull ups or chin ups?

Fitness Programs? are they worth the price?

@david_loves_boats Buying a book that has a program in it is usually much more worthwhile. The information around the template is where the real gold is. Beyond 5/3/1, Bromley's base strength, tactical barbell, deep water, super squats. All gold.

Need fitness routine for feminine tone

@dausman23 Same as any bodybuilding program with an emphasis on a specific area really. Take your standard program that revolves around squat, bench, deadlift, overhead press and then focus the accessories around the areas you want more muscle. Greyskull LP for a few months then 5/3/1 is a...

    Home gym - machines

@txthomas This is not a thing where more tech and money work better. Lumps of iron work great. The problem with cable resistance is they are awful for pressing because there is such low stability due to the pivot point you can't move enough weight so it feels hard but you get low stimulus to...

I need help deciding if this workout should only be done once a week or if I lack a high fitness levellevel

@swan617 Looks like one of those workouts designed to make everything hurt whilst not being effective. I'd chuck it in the bin.
