is there any other 5’2 to 5’4 women that feel best at 140lb to 150lbs or is it just me?

@peaceprevails26 I’m 5’3 and always get the most complements when I’m around 140-150. I’m currently 135 after getting down to 132- going through some bulk/cut cycles to put on extra muscle, and I’ve gotten some “are you okay?” comments because my face looks a bit too thin.

How is it possible for a red-blooded human being to hold a plank for 8 HOURS?? Please enlighten me..

@werby Before I had kids, I was able to hold a plank for 7 minutes. I was in decent shape but I wouldn’t call myself an athlete at all, let alone a top tier one. I got diastasis rectii from pregnancy and it’s never fully resolved. If you don’t know, that’s when your ab muscles split down the...

Please reassure me my home gym isn’t dumb

@evachristine It’s not dumb at all! I have a small setup at home (pull up bar, rings, dumbbells) and would love to one day have room for a squat rack and a bench.

Just for fun: what’s everyone’s favorite fitness/health “fact” that’s been debunked?

@warrioress Google “bleach church.” Most recently they’re in trouble for selling it as a COVID cure, but before that they were claiming it would “detox” you from parasites that were making you fat. They’ve also claimed it would cure autism.

Just for fun: what’s everyone’s favorite fitness/health “fact” that’s been debunked?

@jg_lrd I’ve lost 50 pounds and I don’t think there’s been a single day I haven’t eaten refined carbs. I did have to reduce them so I could still hit my protein goals with less calories, but I’d rather die than cut out pasta and bread entirely.

Can't take sets to failure due to nauesea and lightheadedness before that

@pathanten It’s likely just your body getting used to exercising. I would try reducing the weight or number of reps in the earlier sets and see if that helps. You can try to increase them gradually after you’ve found the point where you no longer feel sick. However there are some medical...

Frustrated about body size and TDEE

@johnjs37 I’m the shortest person in my family by a really wide margin. I got grandma’s height genes and she’s long gone. So my family acts like I’m relapsing back into disordered eating when I eat appropriately portioned meals for my size. And god forbid I ever let on the fact that I’m (always)...

Just for fun: what’s everyone’s favorite fitness/health “fact” that’s been debunked?

@jakob1997 A lot of the reason this seems true is that most people will subconsciously decrease their NEAT when they’re eating less calories, because they have less energy. For example when I’m eating at a deficit, I find myself automatically taking little shortcuts like folding clothes while...

If there was an equivalent of the “Dead Hang” but for your hips instead of shoulders, what would it be?

@ravenhunter32 Because he tripped and fell into a vat of nuclear waste.

How to stop the morning poop ?

@becksblue I take 2-3 of these Walmart ones every night. I’ve tried the Metamucil and Fiber Advance ones as well, they all work, but these are tasty and cheap.

How to stop the morning poop ?

@becksblue I take fiber gummies at bedtime. Poop takes less than 5 minutes the next morning.

May have to stop being a natty, testosterone finally checked and way low

@scott2511 You’re never a failure for needing a medical treatment. It’s not much different from someone who needs insulin or blood pressure meds. Getting your testosterone back up to normal levels because you’re feeling crummy isn’t the same as going on gear so you can get huge easier.

@monicachere I’m the same. I struggle with binge eating and candy is my biggest weakness.

Can I get enough protein of mainly protein powders?

@laiju1989 There are tasty protein bars on the market now, we’ve come a long way from the disgusting Powerbar bricks from the 1990’s. I’ve improved my health by using protein bars to satisfy my sweet tooth instead of candy bars. Lately I’ve been getting Fulfil, Barebells, and Quest Heros. But...

    Meeting protein goals without dairy

@ilovegod123 I’m lactose intolerant so my dairy intake is generally just a cup of yogurt and sometimes a protein bar since those don’t mess me up. You can easily get dairy free versions of both of those, though. My protein shakes are pea, quinoa, and/or hemp protein mixed with unsweetened...

Can I get enough protein of mainly protein powders?

@oliver23 Definitely, over half of my protein comes from protein shakes or bars because I just don’t like eating many high protein foods.

Just for fun: what’s everyone’s favorite fitness/health “fact” that’s been debunked?

@simple_man I wanted to look like that and I had to go through 4 PTs before I found one who would help me even try to bulk as a 20 year old woman in the 2010s. I kept getting “oh no honey, you don’t EVER want to use dumbbells heavier than 10 pounds or you’ll hurt yourself.” Lady, I work in a...

Dr. Mike on male/female training differences

@seoravi10 I have had 3 male gynos and ALL OF THEM (plus 2 other male doctors) have made disgusting unsolicited comments about either my body or my sex life. One of them assaulted me. I’ll spare you the details because they’d need a trigger warning, but it was definitely not “well maybe he had a...
