What can I do when I’m young to keep healthy when I’m older?

@dawn16 My grandmother lived to 92. Up until age of maybe 12ish, I used to stay a week with her over the summer. We used to walk EVERYWHERE. 2 miles to the grocery store - walk. 4 miles to the movie theatre - walk. 3 miles to the tennis courts - walk. Not kidding. So much walking to the...

What can I do when I’m young to keep healthy when I’m older?

@rsdar Focusing on form is key. I see people at the gym lifting really heavy weights but horrible form. Proper form may actually mean lowering weights, but the long term benefit is in proper form.

Feeling fatigued in the final 6 weeks before a triathlon - any nutritional or training advice?

@billard Check out beginnertriathlete.com. When I was doing races (full resume is over 40 of various distances including one full Ironman, two half, and mostly Oly), I frequently went there for a wealth of information, including nutrition. The three pillars of triathlon are swim, bike, run...

Feeling like I don't look like I workout

@hendricks62 My guess, it's probably eating 2200 cals a day. At 5'10" 165lbs, maybe you're eating too much. I went up to 205lbs during quarantine till the gyms opened here in Jersey. After 3 months and dieting to 1500 - 1600 cals/day or less (most days, only human after all), I got down to...

Tips for working out first thing in the morning?

@kingshellie Sugar free Redbull in the morning? Or an Nespresso machine and pop a couple espressos before working out? Also better sleeping patterns? About sleeping, not meaning more sleeping per se if added hours aren't possible but better sleeping in general, such as contoured pillow, cool...

Ok I finally got onboard with stretching..but now I need specific help!

@vivienita Thanks for posting video. I'm going to include some of these, already been doing some of them too. I don't have a recommendation though, just comment. I'm in the same boat. Once I hit my mid-30s, I really gained an appreciation for stretching both before and after working out.

No A/C at gym- I feel crazy

@ericanicolee I'm able to tolerate the heat. As a matter of fact, I kind of like it. People have different tolerances for things like that. That being said, do you bring your own water? Regardless of whether my gym's AC is working or not (sometimes it doesn't in the whole gym or doesn't in...

Not sure whether to continue cutting, stay at maintenance, or eat at a surplus (progress photos)

@imalamb Only 8 lbs? Really? Honestly it looks more like 15 - 20 IMO. One reason for that is, as you know, muscle weighs more than fat, so that you only lost 8 lbs but look like you lost more could very well be you are gaining muscle. It looks like more due to the thinner stomach and legs...

teen girl intimidated by mostly-male strength training class

@jrsinct Well to be honest, considering the age of the people in the class, I would think there might be some snickering or commenting or joking or whatever but only at the beginning. We all went to high school and remember those days. That's due to age. I would think most won't care or so...
