OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@seerly Apartment living sucks, especially in winter. Look around for a park if you live outside of "frozen hellscape land", otherwise just keep an eye out for an unlikely solution. Best of luck.

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@seerly Get creative. Buy rings and toss them over a tree, or over bars in a stairwell, or install a hook in the ceiling. Buy a wall mounted bar. If you really want to make it work you'll find a way.

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@papy2191 In an ideal world there would be one video with the overall structure, one for the warm ups, then one for each exercise/movement with each progression in order, all linked on the routine page. However, that would be a ton of work, and enough videos already exist without adding a bunch...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@onefast3 Based on the outlined routines above, I'm going to guess no. If you're looking for pure hypertrophy posting in the beginner threads will likely get you lots of help in modifying the existing routines to suit your goals. The majority of this sub is less focused on hypertrophy I find...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@kingdomkings I like the idea of having both options, as I suspect it will be possible to mix and match the parts you are interested in between the two, instead of trying to include it all in one.

Mark Rippetoe's chin-up protocol for fixing Golfers Elbow

@deborah123 This is the resource I point people to. The book is on my wishlist this christmas, the least I can do is flip you some $$ after I managed to finally do away with 3 years worth of elbow pain!

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@farmergal My 2 cents is that a belt and a sturdy backpack lets you add weight in a more modular fashion for significantly less money. I try to tell myself the diy and instability is part of the draw...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@dawn16 A printable checklist would be fantastic. One of the 1st things I did when getting into the RR was make myself one. The biggest issue is that everyone starts at different progressions for each exercise, and needs different form cue reminders, has different goals and accessory work...

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@silverfanng You're actually better off just gripping the towel/rope with a knot in the end than making a loop if you go this route, build some grip strength for free and tough grip is less unpleasant than smushed hands.

@lewis5398 More in response to @lizmoshes, basically adding onto your point for clarity as to specifically why they were likely left out.

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@lewis5398 Pull ups and dips require somewhere to do them and are a bit harder to macgyver than rows and push ups. The number of "this is impossible, look at how much shit I need" posts of new people excusing themselves from actually reading the RR indicates leaving them out of the primer is a...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@dawn16 The only one I see come up early enough that people post in the beginner thread is hitting the 6-7r pull up wall, which boils down to "just keep at it, you'll get there. Maybe add an extra set or try GtG if you're super keen". True plateaus hit once you're ready to handle them, as you...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@new_spiritual_birth If you read the RR and the FAQ and just try it, adding one exercise/warm up per work out, you'll realize it's actually very simple despite appearing very complicated. It only appears complicated because it has options for each exercise depending on your skill level...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@tdg It will strengthen with good quality core work. Just keep focusing on the cues and working at it you'll get there eventually.

@dontdosadness This is fantastic, and almost exactly what I found myself typing out for new people that bounced off the RR. Take it slow, one block of text and exercise out a time until you've got them all.

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@marcusfetzer Nothing is mandatory as stated in the post, but Olympic rings will make the bodyweight rows significantly easier than macgyvering a "towel in the door" set up. They can also later be used for pull ups and other more advanced exercises. Rings are likely the single best cost to...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@julienmarin Nice! I feel ya haha. It takes less as you dial it in. You should also be focusing on proper bracing during basically every exercise as well so you want this to be second nature as soon as possible.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@stevemartin92 If you can pick one specific time, it is easier to stick to. Mostly just plan to do it, have a back up plan, and do the thing.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@myaccount1 How high up your chest? I mean, the point of bracing is to generate tension...

@dontdosadness Your sacrifice is appreciated; all r/bwf beginners will grunt your name as they finish each rep in your honour. Seriously though, stellar work and incredibly charitable of you and the rest of the mods/contributers. Can't overstate how appreciated it is by the whole community.
