OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@new_spiritual_birth If you read the RR and the FAQ and just try it, adding one exercise/warm up per work out, you'll realize it's actually very simple despite appearing very complicated. It only appears complicated because it has options for each exercise depending on your skill level...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@tdg It will strengthen with good quality core work. Just keep focusing on the cues and working at it you'll get there eventually.

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@dontdosadness This is fantastic, and almost exactly what I found myself typing out for new people that bounced off the RR. Take it slow, one block of text and exercise out a time until you've got them all.

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@marcusfetzer Nothing is mandatory as stated in the post, but Olympic rings will make the bodyweight rows significantly easier than macgyvering a "towel in the door" set up. They can also later be used for pull ups and other more advanced exercises. Rings are likely the single best cost to...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@julienmarin Nice! I feel ya haha. It takes less as you dial it in. You should also be focusing on proper bracing during basically every exercise as well so you want this to be second nature as soon as possible.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@stevemartin92 If you can pick one specific time, it is easier to stick to. Mostly just plan to do it, have a back up plan, and do the thing.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@myaccount1 How high up your chest? I mean, the point of bracing is to generate tension...

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@dontdosadness Your sacrifice is appreciated; all r/bwf beginners will grunt your name as they finish each rep in your honour. Seriously though, stellar work and incredibly charitable of you and the rest of the mods/contributers. Can't overstate how appreciated it is by the whole community.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 10

@klaas If you are contracting internal obliques it can push your belly out a bit. If they are contracted properly, when you try to flare out your ribs (push the lower part of your rib cage away from your spine), instead of your ribs flaring out you should stand up straighter because your...

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@clare5890 I've had to start nearly from scratch 3 times due to severe injury (unrelated to bwf), it gets easier every time, and there is no feeling in the world like passing your previous peak. Best of luck, you'll be a greek statue of peak physique before ya know it!

BWF Primer Build-Up Community Event: Day 5

@dbchleqz01 Stick to it as written, one day per day would be my recommendation. The goal is to ease you into things and work on form; working out every day as a beginner means working far below your capabilities. Feel free to read ahead though, you can still participate in discussion as each...

Happy Holidays /r/BWF! Our Gift to You: The BWF Primer Routine Technical Outline (+ only 1 week until the New Year's Primer Community Event!)

@dontdosadness Actually the beginner 14 day approach is the one place where a checklist or print out would be helpful, with some bullet point form tips for each exercise. Unlike the other routines everyone is assumed to start at exactly the same place so one size would fit all. Something for...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 8

@spf I wouldn't stack the intro squats on top of that, get the tendonitis sorted first. You can always come back later and do the squats portion. Definitely still read it though. The intro is suppose to be teaching form first and foremost, and be super light on the intensity. If you're...

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 8

@dawn16 Balancing volume that new people can do everyday without overdoing it. Once you get past the intro and into the routine things will be a bit more consistent and clear.

BWF Primer Build-up Community Event: Day 14 (Final Day!)

@lewis5398 The man needs to eat y'all. He's too humble to ask for it himself, but would appreciate the support.
