Fitness apps that don't emphasize weight loss?

@psalm24healing I used MyFitnessPal for a long time, but I'm really happy with MacroFactor. You get lots of data but it is absolutely a judgement free app. I didn't realize how much the MFP warnings bummed me out and messed with my adherence! The fact that MacroFactor calculates your real intake...

Taller ladies with very long femurs - Does Squatting Ever Get Easier?

@whereami My feelings on trainers: If you want to learn how to squat, deadlift, bench... Find a powerlifting gym. Not a trainer at a commercial gym. Most of them do not cut it. I've been certified as a personal trainer before and I can tell you there's 0 teaching on technique, let alone...

Puny person in upstairs apartment adding barbell to routine

@shemystique Where everyone else can steal your shit??? Not the same as a private garage unfortunately. Maybe you're thinking of a townhouse, which often has garages...

Puny person in upstairs apartment adding barbell to routine

@rob01 Yes, the width is adjustable. Its also seems stable enough that you could use the barbell to do inverted rows or self-assisted pull ups if you put it to the max height! I would have bought it myself, but alas, I have zero faith in my rickety apartment floors managing my weight (217lbs)...

Puny person in upstairs apartment adding barbell to routine

@rob01 If you can find it, I recommend this . The black bar in the middle along the floor can be taken out completely so that you can store everything quite flat! Shove it under a bed or into a closet! Its a compact, apartment friendly and safe ofption.

    Workouts that don’t push limits

@dawn16 Yessssss its an incredible app and the sessions you get are so ridiculously customized to your physical needs. I usually hate group classes or workout videos because I'm very picky about someone's way of speaking or their voice when exercising (dumb, I know), and being able to customize...

Was it dangerous to bail out of my squat with my hair like this? (See image)

@anon103 There's a few videos where you can see people losing chunks of hair, actually. 😖 Anyway, OP's hair is too short. Nothing to worry about!

    Workouts that don’t push limits

@panozaa_allbet I really like Just Move from KaisaFit. I generally abhor workout videos or live classes because the trainer sounds annoying, but I really like how she speaks to her audience. Theres a huge variety of levels and types of videos, and she repeats throughout that we have to keep to...

    [FORM CHECK] deadlift PR

@anna_jackson Ah well given its a form check, I thought you'd want a note or two lol but aight. The shoe thing is beneficial to all lifts, btw. But yes, the form is alright, if not more than alright - definitely better than most!

    [FORM CHECK] deadlift PR

@anna_jackson 2 very minor things because this is overall a beautiful deadlift: Ditch the shoes and go for something flat with no cushioning, you will appreciate the stability this adds. Before you pull, sit/lean/rock back, just a bit. This will pull the slack out of the bar, and its going to...
