How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@denice65 Thank you! That was definitely a motivation for posting this. I've tried to start cutting and bulking cycles in the past, but I just couldn't stand how tired and weak I felt from decreasing my calorie intake. Recomp is super slow, but I'm really happy with the results and I've been...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@dawn16 About an hour to an hour and a half depending on what I'm working. I could definitely shorten it, but I'm known for taking extremely long breaks between sets to mess around with my music and stare at other people.

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@k33p That's awesome! I definitely still have moments where I go to put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in a while and assume they'll be too tight just because that's the direction my body was taking before I started exercising. It's the best feeling!

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@cogitator12 Actually, it's funny you mention that because I was just thinking about it! I've been a 32B my whole life and was in the before picture as well. For some reason (hopefully back progress fingers crossed), my bra size has gone up slightly. I still wear a 32B, but I have to hook it...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@livelystone13 Yes! Sorry it took me a while to respond. I tend to do P/P/L/P/P/L/R. Though, if I'm exhausted, I take a day or two off even if it isn't my set "rest day". No routine can be perfect when real life strikes. :)

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@raika Thank you! I do a push/pull/legs split for the most part. The only consistent part about each of those days is one of the big 3, but my accessory work can change a bit every week. I try to do at least 3 accessory exercises every time I go in addition to the main lift. I also alternate...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@guitar4721 Haha! Yes, it totally does look like that! I'll get a picture tomorrow. It's a little late where I am. :) Edit: Posted!

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@stopspendingus I just use a cloth sewing kit tape measure! Works perfectly. :)

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@stopspendingus I had to stop looking at the scale entirely for a while. I had someone tell me early on to just focus on getting stronger and my body will do what it needs to do to get there. It seemed to work! I also try to tell people to measure their waist, hips, etc. because I actually...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@jayden_jay I actually still have a little bit of a tummy pouch which you obviously can't see because I'm cheating and flexing in the picture. I'll try to get a more relaxed pic tomorrow. I don't think it's something that will ever completely go away and I've sorta just decided I can't stress...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@milegra Actually, not completely. I've been eating anywhere from 1900-2100. I just get too dang hungry to eat less! Every time I tried to cut back, I always felt exhausted and my lifts suffered. I started out at 1900 and slowly added calories once I was truly convinced I wasn't putting on...

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@dawn16 I'm 25! Sorry, I probably should have put that in the original post somewhere.

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@livelystone13 Yes, go for it!! All I can say is go as heavy as you can! I am definitely guilty of thinking that curling the 5 lb weights for sets of 20 was going to be the best option. I truly didn't see a difference until I really started pushing myself.

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

@jesus4truth They're truly awful! I bought them for river rafting so I wouldn't mess up a nicer bathing suit. As you can tell in the after pic, the bottoms fit amazingly. /s

@amw88 I'd be totally okay with that if it's something they would want to do!

How to ignore your scale: 130lbs to 130lbs in just a year and a half!

Hi everyone! I started lifting heavy about a year and a half ago after suffering from unrelenting shin splints due to running. I soon fell in love with it and decided that lifting was the only thing I could really stick with as far as exercise goes. When I took this before picture right...
