Ugh. Didn’t complete the scaled version and feel like a failure

@ilovejesus56129 I tell this to all of my members who feel like you did. The open is a time to test yourself, maybe you finish the workout, maybe you don't. In 24.1, I would tell people if you believe you can finish the 21 rep section with good form completely in 15 minutes then you should go...

Please don’t kip in your handstand push ups

@channel7 In order to get better at my gymnastics, I completed the gymnasticbodies.com programming for handstands. The initial work up to get to a handstand started with working up to holding a tripod style headstand to build up the neck muscles. I built up to holding the headstand for 5 x...

Emma Gardner not going to college to train at CompTrain

@grace4nan Making a general point on the discussion, not geared toward OP. Personal opinion but its her life. Trying to say she is making a mistake or not is projecting our own mistakes we made onto her decision. I am 40 just finished my bachelors in Exercise Science and when I retire from...

Got tired of waiting for the Echo Rogue windguard, so I build my own, I hope it help somebody else..

@robertcf Thats a simple idea, I like it. The wind is not what bothers me, its knowing that whatever is floating in the wind is now in my lungs. I am sure I breath in enough bacteria everyday without a fan forcing it down my throat.

Initial 24.3 percentages BTWB (and percentages to shoot for, for quarterfinals)

@talkingbunny Just had someone do it RX, their strategy was 5/5 Thrusters then 5/5 Chest to bar, 4/3 thrusters, 3/2/2 Bar muscle ups. They completed 3 rounds and 11 reps into the second portion. 153 reps.

    Joint health

@dreamsunderstood I use Pliability, they offer 20-45 minute videos everyday. Easy to follow and do but like most I struggle with this as well. I have an idea of what you struggle with as I am 42 and have made it continually in the top 10% over the 10 years I have been doing CrossFit. Every...

    Am I too heavy?

@kutloello I started CrossFit at 6'3" 205lbs ~22%bf, 10 years later I am 240lbs ~15-18% bf. I can RX any workout and have competed in the masters division in multiple competitions. It's not about how much muscle you have but how you can move using that muscle.

    Joint health

@dreamsunderstood How much stretching did you do over the years outside of rehabbing an injury? Aside from sleep, nutrition, and strength training. Healthy joints are kept by maintaining good mobility as much as possible. Without regular stretching, muscles will begin to pull tendons harder...

    Goals

@lovelylady35 This is an excellent goal and I would encourage you to write this on on the goal board. Exercise isn't only about becoming the strongest or fastest or any other high end objective. Sometimes its about moving your body to prepare for those times of high anxiety/stress.

Wide & Flat Feet Shoes Recs? Nanos?

@coolbair Nano 2 are the best for wide toe box. For some reason, they are the most popular shoe, so much they keep bringing it back every so often. However, every shoe they have made since, they bring it back to a narrow toe box.

Intensity/ Power to be calculated across a SET v/s the ENTIRE WOD

@mbahchidinma Glassman made the point CrossFit isn't about becoming better at any one sport but becoming healthier. If Glassman made up a lot of that information, then other sources have adopted them. Nothing Glassman has said wasn't already prior knowledge. Except for his definition of...

Coaches.. there are other movements than burpees.. #justsaying

@thanhlam If you were at my gym and absolutely hated burpees, I wouldn't make you do them; I would give you a different movement, like up-downs, push-ups, mountain climbers, plank holds, or anything else that fits the stimulus of the workout, and burpee. Either way, burpees suck until you learn...

    CrossFit burnout?

@bonlin How have you been with stress levels, outside the gym? Any kind of stress is just cortisol to the body including high intensity exercise. Keep the cortisol flowing and the body will tell you to slow down by making you feel sluggish. Take a minimum of a week off of high intensity...

    Millennial here

@childofgodforever You should look at this first. Your body constantly needs the right nutrients to sustain good energy levels. Start there, keep focusing on your training but put some more work into correcting your nutrition.
