Don't say you can't do it. 3 days out from my first show! [PROGRESS]

@dangtt1 Go for it! Terrific work so far and do report back to let us know how it goes :-) I'm going a bit slower than you but I am keeping it in the back of my mind that I may compete in 1-2 years once my studies are done. Break a leg!

[WEEKLY THREAD] Feats of Thorsday! Share your achievements with us! Don't be shy!

@barthenson Thank you! Seriously I've been calling them "those turny things you do at the end of a lap" for a few days now. "Flip turn" will save me a lot of syllables!

@dawn16 Trust me it doesn't come naturally to me at all. My body type is very swimmer/dancer like and yet I'm a very uncoordinated flailer. Why must my body betray me like that? WHY?!

This week I had my first swimming lesson since I was a kid. It was mostly stroke correction and learning to breathe properly, but something I've always wanted to learn is how to do the turn at the end of a lap. I couldn't get it during my class but after my workout today I popped into the pool...

Don't say you can't do it. 3 days out from my first show! [PROGRESS]

@kellyanne Hmm, well if you know what exercises you can and can't do, then you should be able to modify a program to suit your restrictions, even if it's a bodyweight workout. Without knowing anything about herniated discs myself, I don't feel qualified to offer much more than that. But I'm...

Don't say you can't do it. 3 days out from my first show! [PROGRESS]

@kellyanne Read the title: Don't say you can't do it! Find a program you like, maybe hire a trainer for one session to show you proper form on all the lifts, and after that you can do the rest yourself!

Lift really big? Run really far? Finally get that yoga pose you've been struggling with? Perhaps you stuck to your fold plan and now know you can achieve it? Whatever your success, we want to know about it! P.s. You break intergalactic xxfitness law if you preface your comment with "well it's...

A food tracking, cal counting app for iPod w/ iOS 4.2.1?

@7ebenezer7 Can you use the internet on a touch? If so, why not just browse to the website of whichever site you want to use? It's not as convenient but I'm not sure you'll find a quality, updated app for your ios.

@claireanneh I heard Schwarzy does something similar. Will have to give it a try!

This is my one transformation after starting lifting

@drizzlingskies I second almond milk! Definitely look for the brand with the lowest sugar though... that's how they sneak up on ya! ;-)

Best exercises for toning up the dreaded t-h-i-g-h-s??

@dimitryet The distribution of fat on your body is determined by genetics, but if you want to gain more muscle in your thighs, then I'd recommend stopping with so much walking (this builds endurance more than strength) and start doing lifts (e.g. Squats) and other quad exercises like leg presses...
