    What to do next?

@gordon_b Yes, your exercise routine is rather...excessive. Do you actually enjoy all that activity, or are you only doing it to lose weight? The reason I ask is because excessive cardio can actually stall weight loss, because it puts your body in a state of stress, which causes your cortisol...

Disappointed: weight loss didn’t equal bf% loss

@whitab Scales can't measure body fat. The ones that claim to measure body fat are total crap. They're not accurate at all, not even for measuring trends. If you drink a lot of water, the scale will interpret that as increased body fat.

    What to do next?

@gordon_b Since you've lost a significant amount of weight, it's possible that 1600 calories is no longer a deficit for you. Have you tried going down to 1400?

    I don’t know wtf I’m doing

@irishamerican4christ Of course she should eat fruit and veggies as well, but it's hard to get the recommended amount of fiber from just fruits and veggies. If she's struggling with that, adding a serving of high-fiber cereal is an easy way to get more fiber.

    I don’t know wtf I’m doing

@joyfullyobey Don't just estimate your calories, you need to actually count them and write it all down. Measure your food to make sure you're getting a proper serving. If you're eating something that doesn't have a nutrition label, look it up on CalorieKing.com. In addition to calories, you...

    Where to shop

@stephen583 At 5'2" and 115 lbs, you shouldn't have trouble finding clothes that fit, unless you're referring to the length. Unless you shop at stores with vanity sizing (looking at you, Gap), those measurements wouldn't be a size 0.

I’m gaining weight even though I’ve reduced my calorie intake 😭

@stigss Why on earth would you weigh yourself after eating dinner? You're just weighing the food and water sitting in your stomach. Always weigh yourself first thing in the morning, before you eat.

Did anyone else struggle with their body image MORE as they got stronger/lost weight? How did you learn to appreciate your “new” self?

@prayhouse Focus on the muscles. I'm like you, I'm a pear shape, so my lower body always looks too big compared to my upper body. Even at my lowest weight, I still felt insecure about my thighs because they were disproportionately large compared to my skinny upper body, and my legs are short...

    I hate working out

@sriram Have you talked to your doctor about medications that might help you control your appetite? As a short woman, you'd have to restrict calories more than the average person to lose weight, so naturally that leaves you hungry! Weight loss will always feel like a battle if you're starving...

Is it true a small amount of fat is more visible on petite people?

@dawn16 I know, right? It takes at least 2 months of strict calorie deficit and exercise to lose 5 pounds, but I can gain 5 pounds in a week if I'm not careful.

Is it true a small amount of fat is more visible on petite people?

@marineskok This is why I prefer low-rise jeans (not that you can find those anymore). They rest on your hips, so a little stomach bloating doesn't make a difference. A loose fitting top can hide that. I hate the way mid-rise jeans cut into my stomach.

Is it true a small amount of fat is more visible on petite people?

@jesusisking1 Yes, it makes a big difference! Taller people don't understand why I get upset about a 5-pound weight gain, they're like "It's only 5 pounds, what's the big deal?" But I'm only 5'1" so 5-8 pounds actually makes a big difference, visually. Even losing 3 pounds makes a difference...

Is it just me or do we get ignored at parties/bars because we’re short? like people can’t see or notice us in the crowd

@woollybear It's not just you and you're not imagining it! I'm 5'1" and I just disappear in large crowds. Everyone looks straight over my head at the normal-height people around me. Wearing heels doesn't even help because all the other women are wearing heels too! I always say that women over...

    Unexplained weight gain

@beryybverry Yes, but your calorie deficit will have to be bigger than you might expect. Because your body is storing calories as fat instead of burning them for energy. Can you talk to your doctor about medication for insulin resistance? Trying to lose weight with untreated insulin resistance...

    Unexplained weight gain

@beryybverry Have you been tested for insulin resistance or hypothyroidism (fasting blood draw first thing in the morning)? Either of those conditions could make it hard to lose weight and easy to gain weight.
