    Pilates-tok?

@annbrenda There are plenty of body scans that can measure muscle growth, so I thought maybe you had read a study that had done that and that’s where you were getting this from. With all due respect, I don’t really think that you can say that what I said was wrong or that you have something...

    Pilates-tok?

@annbrenda Can you please site the research you are referencing about how Pilates and yoga build smaller stability muscles? I’d be very interested to read it! As far as my own personal experience, I also noticed I looked more lean/toned/whatever buzzword is used for visible muscle definition...

    Pilates-tok?

@burgandybaby Hormonal imbalances can make weight loss hard, but there is NO evidence that weight lifting causes hormonal imbalances. Too much HIIT or too much exercise in general can, but that’s not the same thing.

    Pilates-tok?

@seekinganswersinlife Let me preface this rant with I love weight lifting AND Pilates TikTok is a hotbed of health and fitness misinformation and I wish the whole website would be obliterated from the internet. Weight lifting doesn’t cause your body to hold onto fat nor does it imbalance...

@danasim I think less water retention is a big factor as well.

Help! Can’t get rid of cellulite on my thighs and bum

@corinth77777 Unfortunately, there’s just no way to say what will or won’t work for you. I have very narrow hips and skinny legs, but even at a low body fat percentage, I still have visible cellulite. It’s become more noticeable as I’ve gotten older. The only thing that reduces the appearance...

New coach has me on high calories

@kripnal I actually gained 8 pounds overall despite losing body fat! I felt puffy and bigger overall for awhile but my goals are not aesthetic based so I just ignored it and kept going. Eventually the puffiness went away and I had a lot of muscle definition

New coach has me on high calories

@kripnal I lost around 10% body fat eating at 1700 cal. It took about eight months, but it was definitely worth it!

3 Months In and No Progress (29 F)

@vdsd I also have similar stats and agree with this. Eating at a low intake and only incorporating bodyweight weight workouts may actually result in the loss of muscle mass, and therefore an increase in body fat percentage

@animeizgud This comment unlocked memories from middle school gym class that I didn’t know I had hahaha

    Changes n blood pressure?

@jash This is a very common side effect of Wellbutrin. But any concerns like this should definitely be brought up to your doctor as the Internet is not really a safe place for medical advice.

    Should I eat 1200cal or more...or less?

Your comment literally says “I will say people ms reflexive reaction to comment 1200 is not enough is an unsupported one size fits all thing that doesn’t not account for petite people”. This statement is false. Petite people still need more calories than that unless they are being medically...

I guess I’d better get used to barely eating anything 🙄

@nuke11 That advice is typically for taller people who are obese. Unfortunately, most standard fitness advice isn’t applicable to smaller women. Although honestly, I absolutely hate that people tell other people to calculate their TDEE at sedentary when they’re not. That just makes no sense...

I guess I’d better get used to barely eating anything 🙄

@nuke11 Exercise. Building muscle increases your BMR; and exercise in general increases your TDEE. the only way your maintenance will be 1400 calories is if you are extremely sedentary, which is not effective for weight loss or maintenance, and is awful for overall health. Edited to add: I’m...

    Should I eat 1200cal or more...or less?

@tovagulet Please stop giving bad advice. This is against the rules of this sub for a reason. It would also help if instead of being passive aggressive and needlessly rude, you actually read what I said. I didn’t say no one can eat under 1200 ever. I said any diet under 1200 needs to be...

    Has anyone had any luck…

@dawn16 Yes obviously I know what body recomposition is. However, gaining muscle does not automatically mean you’ll lose fat. I’m not going to engage further as this is a very basic concept and you seem committed to misrepresenting it.

    Should I eat 1200cal or more...or less?

@tovagulet It 100% does account for petite people. Any diet under 1200 needs to be supervised by a doctor. There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule.

    Has anyone had any luck…

@dawn16 What you’re describing is biologically not how our bodies work. Gaining muscle does not cause fat loss. Being in a calorie deficit is what causes fat loss.l
