    Last Week I Got Rhabdo

@dawn16 I have a friend that went to the games as a teen and completely messed up her abs on the ghd. She was in the hospital for over a week with rhabdo.

What separates the elite from the rest

@eligp1240 Genetics are crazy and super important. We had a girl come in with only volleyball experience and RX’d immediately. Any difficult skill work she picked up right away. She was RXing at 9 months pregnant when members there for years couldn’t. There’s also those that come in daily for...

    The Troubles With Doubles

@srutz I said that elsewhere in here. My coach didn’t even allow that while teaching because it makes it harder. This is a skill that’s all about connecting the rhythm of a jump with the twisting of a rope twice. Having your brain switch between two rhythms is not going to make it easier. The...

    “I’m going to Rx 18.3” ~ A guy who can’t do pull-ups

@dawn16 If the MU are the issue, why not do RX until you hit MU’s, then switch to scaled for the workout factor? (only record your RX score) Then you’d still get your workout in but be properly placed among people with DU’s and high OHS weight like you, but no MU’s.

If you can recall, what was the first workout you RX'd? How far along were you when this occurred?

@sammypetter We always have some easier to RX ones mixed in so RXing was never a big deal to me just because whenever it’s an AMRAP you’d just get fewer rounds. Such as running and slam balls or something of the sort.

What separates the elite from the rest

@yochanagrace I thought like you that more was better, but I hit a plateau after a few years where I was only making small improvements. My schedule became full where I could only go to CrossFit m/w/f and all my lifts jumped, even going only 3 days. Regular gym bros allow recovery by rotating...

    Fraser tortures fitness blogger

@skywalker It would be weird to not include any type of gymnastics skills like that if we are supposed to follow a typical Mat day. I think it was good that they showed that there’s a mix of skill, strength, and engine.

    The Troubles With Doubles

@bsssg I think that’s making it harder. I am really good at them and can’t switch between singles and dubs because it’s all about rhythm and you’re messing that up completely by adding singles in the mix. I had a coach not even allow singles at all when practicing dubs and I had them solid...

    5… or 6 days a week?

@bagr4 Yeah. If I did something like a hike or long walk I’d only do cf 4 days that week.

    5… or 6 days a week?

@williamw I got stronger when I dropped a day. It’s like my muscles never had a chance to recover properly.

Coaches.. there are other movements than burpees.. #justsaying

@sue4jesus It sounds like OP’s programming sucks though. It’s a good movement, but they should not be doing them daily. I don’t think he’s complaining about their existence in general.

Coaches.. there are other movements than burpees.. #justsaying

@thanhlam Daily burpees is just crappy programming. It’s a good move like I said, but sounds like you’re doing them more than you should. I’d direct this to your coach rather than CrossFit in general because this has not been my experience at all in any of my gyms or online programs.

Coaches.. there are other movements than burpees.. #justsaying

@thanhlam While every programming I’ve done has had burpees at some point, it wasn’t that often where I’d need to make a post like this. I don’t think I’ve had them in the last few weeks. Are you really doing them that much? It’s a good move, but you’re making it sound like they’re programming...

What’s a little trick that made a huge difference in your form?

@ch3apshad3s I tell this to everyone I teach to deadlift as well, since it was what got me to understand when I was learning. People just want to pull which messes up your back so bad.

    Bar M.U. HELP!

@juhi I’ve heard it more resembles a toes to bar than a pull up. Honestly for me I got the resistance bands and just got smaller and smaller. It helped me learn the proper pulling technique (pull to hips then do a sit up). It is more of a skill than a strength issue (though obviously both are...

    Am I too heavy?

@rambovsrocky I’ve never been told how to run with good form, do you have a good resource to learn?
