    Kettlebell weight recommendation

@theheretic I started kettlebells at 43 years old, about 185lbs, 6’ 0”. I started as a complete beginner, I hadn’t done an exercise program in over 10 years. I started with the Simple and Sinister program. The recommended weight is 16 KG. That weight was way too much for me, so I spent two or...

    Only S&S?

@joellemarie197 S&S is fine for people just getting into kettlebells, that's what I did. But I found it got boring quick, and after doing research found that it's not the best use of your time. I would do it for maybe three months tops, then either incorporate other things into it, or move on...

DFW pressing progress, for those interested in running DFW

@rprimus Working in the 24kg would certainly serve you well if you don't have access to the 20kgs.

DFW pressing progress, for those interested in running DFW

@belovedsone Thank you. I have heard others say similar things about the 24kg and hypertrophy, so the 24kg has been my goal with which to start the Giant. I thought I would have to run DFW three times to reach 24kg. I didn't think I would match my strength progress the second time through, so...

DFW pressing progress, for those interested in running DFW

Info: M 6' mid-40's c.190lbs. Hadn't been working out until about 4 - 5 months ago. I've run Geoff Neupert's DFW (Dry Fighting Weight) twice. I mostly did the Remix version the first time through, and either skipped the Remix days, or did an 'Easy Strength' version the second time through...

    Simple DFW program questions

@jaysj84 A lot of people go right into the squats after the clean and presses, with another clean before the squats. As written you do the clean and presses, rest, then the squats, rest. I followed it as written. I used a heart rate monitor and would rest until I got to the upper end of zone 2...

    Dan John Fundamentals Program

@leaps He said concerning the book: ‘I developed a program for kettlebells and then I added another for barbells.’

    Dan John Fundamentals Program

@sozo1517 He's publishing a hypertrophy book, like, any second now. He indicated that it could be out by now. It's not. So maybe next week.

Advice: the Giant 1.0 or 3.0 again?

M, mid 40s, 185lb, 6' I ran DFW twice, from 18s to 21s, then ran the Giant 3.0 with 24s. I tested the 24s at 5RM, but this was just the press, not clean and press. I ran the Giant 3.0 with the 24s for four weeks, then took a light deload week and tested at 7RM for the C+P. I figure my 10RM now...

    The Giant

@josephhayes You got it. I was trying to explain without giving the program away, so it lacked clarity. The Giant 3.2 would be the same, +1 rep for each set after completing 3.1.

    The Giant

@josephhayes You add one rep for each day and do it for the four weeks. So your 3 rep day becomes 4 reps, for example.

    The Giant

@josephhayes It’s discussed in the StrongFirst forums. It’s unofficial. Basically you add an additional rep for each day of 3.0. It acts as a bridge between 3.0 and 1.0 if needed.

    The Giant

@kikelomo I'm in a similar spot as you. I have adjustables and ran DFW with the 21s. 21s become 10RM in the double press, and 24s became my 5RM in the double press (not my C+P, just press). Ran the Giant 3.0 with 24s, only got to 7RM with the clean and press. Now I don't know if I should run...
