What’s your preferred warm up routine?

@austinsugden 60 seconds in a deep goblet squat w a moderate kettlebell. Some arm circles, swing my arms across my body (whatever that’s called), maybe some wrist circles. Sometimes I swing my legs back and forth(whatever that’s called). A snappy set of KB swings to get my blood moving. Some...

OFFICIAL RR UPDATE: New Year's New Routine(s)! --- (Coming Up in 2 Weeks: a Total Beginner's Community Exercise Event! ) ---

@dontdosadness Oh, boy! This is so exciting. I can’t wait for this choose your own adventure plan. Thank y’all so much for the RR and now this. And I got just say, this is especially refreshing to hear because a lot of pple were becoming pretty dogmatic regarding the RR. This is going to be such...

I need a workout routine and honestly I think if I gained 40lbs I could look like brad Pitt from fight club

@sanman08 I would second the Recommended Routine as well, but your not going to pack on 40lbs of muscle just w body weight exercises and those dumbbells. If you can afford a 16kg kettlebell it will do a lot for you. If you can afford two, it’ll do even more. FB marketplace is a good place to...

    Can’t press 16kg

@erythro You’re coming back from an injury, don’t beat yourself up. If you have access to to a dumbbells, you can do clean and press w them, even tho it’s different. Find the weight you can press 5-8 times and do ladders of 1,2,3. Start w 3 sets and work up to 10. I think that’s pretty standard...

    KB or r/bodyweight RR

@leovvv Sounds like you need to work on is consistency so I would recommend KBs. I did the RR for a long time and loved it, but it’s a long workout, an hour plus. No offense, but you sound like you’re in the stage of reading about working out and deliberating on how to get started. Get a...

    Easy Muscle: Day 1

@emmanuelm118 I hear you on that one my friend. Hopefully I’m in a better place to start a more intense strength program in august 🤞🏻. I tried putting something together that was more intense and it was just too much for me. So I took the advice of people who commented on that post, a number of...

    Easy Muscle: Day 1

@emmanuelm118 You know, I think if you’ve done some of Geoff’s free programs, had success w them and wanted to throw him some support for that, I would get it. Otherwise, it’s 3 programs. The first is a C&P program similar to the Giant. Then an a/b routine based off of your C&P and FS + chin ups...

Bodyweight strength training programs in Google Sheets with videos & progression guides included - 2-4x week Fullbody, Upper/lower and bodypart splits

@icemasterpt This is honestly so dope, thank you for putting this together! Looking at the 3x full body routine, am I correct that the progression guide is adding sets from one week to the next? I like the idea of progressively adding sets. On a related note, this is all very impressive. Do...

H/L/M days required in a step-loading program and ideas for implementing them?

@deborah123 @eshlow Always appreciate your perspective. Interesting food for thought. Thanks so much for your detailed response.

I strength trained 1x per week and 7x per week for 5 months each

@iferexo Yeah, I agree. Once you dial it in, I don’t think 7x is more likely to cause injury than any other routine. Maybe easier to over for it if your pushing too hard.

H/L/M days required in a step-loading program and ideas for implementing them?

@deborah123 This is pretty interesting because I was under the assumption that generally, waving the load and waving the volume were sort of two ways of skinning the same cat, assuming intensity is the same. Is your suggestion then a heavy day based off say a 3 or 5RM, a medium day based off a...

I strength trained 1x per week and 7x per week for 5 months each

@raymondrieger I’ve never read the book, but I have looked into Body by Science. Am I incorrect that it advises trainees following their protocol to use machines instead of free weights because of the exact reasons I mention above ie that one will not be adept enough at the big lifts at a level...

I strength trained 1x per week and 7x per week for 5 months each

@iferexo I’ve gotta say, while he seems like a really nice guy, I’m incredibly skeptical of mindful mover and his whole bag. Knowing what we know about strength, that it is a skill and like all skills, it requires neurological adaptation. Neurological adaptation has one major requirement, time...
