The most comprehensive front lever tutorial

@southerngirls Dynamics = you're moving through some range of motion, not intended to just hold still in an isometric/static position. Bent arm vs straight arm = literally just whether the arm bends or not. There are example movements on the sheet; all the straight-arm dynamics keep the arm...

    Can’t do a single pushup

@fjdajfkldajkbfejfnsiqn I don't have a scale handy to try to get a better estimate. But figure maybe as estimates Standing arm-length from a wall, you're maybe bearing 10% of your bodyweight when you push off the wall At a 45, you're maybe bearing half your body weight Those estimates are...

Super busy and don’t have time to work out. Suggestions?

@cflowers87 A set each of pushups and squats takes 2 minutes. Being really honest, what time can be set aside?

Am I too Old for gains? Muscle and Strength?

@lucaannibale There are controlled studies observing people in their 70's gaining muscle mass after periods of resistance training. If you've done the same thing for one and a half years, it is a good time to do something different, though. Like changing sets, rep-ranges, movements etc...

    Im dead after 90 mins

@ausilio A novice could easily a) be done with pressing after 30 or so minutes, and b) need little enough stress that they could do this 2-3 times a week. If you're really intent on doing all the volume on one day for whatever reason here are example routines with progressively greater volume...

What are the "Big movements" of mobility/flexibility?

@khohanguc Oh boy, let me clear this up. "Big 3" usually refers to squat, bench press, and deadlift, which are the competition lifts in powerlifting. In powerlifting, you lift weight. But in weightlifting, the competition lifts are just snatch and clean & jerk, which are lifts you do...

is fast metabolism really a myth?

@rumiakthar Your basal/resting metabolic rates will vary with your age and body composition, are generally higher for males than females, and vary between individuals even if those factors are all the same. meta-analysis

    Safest pressing exercise for shoulders

@harmonmarie Push-ups are a great foundation for any other pressing. If you do want to move towards headstand push-ups, they'd be the starting point. For all the years in karate with a crowd doing sometimes thousands of different push-ups a week, I don't recall anyone getting injured by them...

@binlid There's been some threads on r/overcominggravity also, but they're still uncommon. It might be a better sub for it though.

@babychristian10 That sounds absurd. There are subs here you can post form checks on. Eat vegetables.

    Are my workouts effective?

@khaldrogo There are strength training routines on the sub info. A bunch of light movement doesn't prompt hypertrophy as well as heavy movements. And if you can do the same thing every day, it probably means you don't need to grow any to deal with that amount of stress.

Basic Q: Is there an App or Website to build lifting/workout routines based on your equipment?

@escuej1 Any I've used let you pick whatever you want or change lifts in an existing template. Although re-reading, if OP just wants to pick the implements they have and then the app spits out a routine, I don't know any that do that.

Basic Q: Is there an App or Website to build lifting/workout routines based on your equipment?

@tiavina There could be a hundred different apps that let you put together your own routine. If you just search "weight training app" in any app store there are too many to get familiar with them all. I used WorkIt for the longest time, and played a bit with Perseus and Liftosaur. Hevy...

How do I get a physique like this?

@cici1234 This looks like a lot of the guys from karate that basically just did hours of cardio and hundreds of reps of pushups + ab stuff every day.
