@flyingleadchange i mean if you extend your spine at the bottom, your abs will be working in the lengthened position and then you contract bringing your spine back to neutral/flexed.

@flyingleadchange When you tense your core, like you're anticipating a gut punch or trying to push one out, your lower back will also tense. Know how that flex feels and sense for that flexing of the lower back in the ab movements. Try to deliberately flex your core and lower back in the position you want.

But a side note, too much rigidity can be bad for some movements. Your back may have some curve just because a full range of motion leg raise can rotate the hips and bend the spine some.
