No workout for 3 months. How should I start?

I used to go to the gym 3-4x a week for 8 months. Doing both weightlifting & cardio but bec of personal reasons natigil ako sa paggym. Recently, i tried running. Unti unti ko sinasanay ulit yung sarili ko. Pero feeling ko may mali or kulang and gusto ko na ulit bumalik sa routine ko dati. The gym i used to go to ay yung bakal gym lang kaya skeptical ako magtanong dun sa coach.

Can someone guide me how and where do i start?

@electricthot Sunk cost fallacy OP.

Invest in expensive and great running shoes. Ilagay mo sa palagi mong nakikita to remind you na you have invested on it and that you need to maximize its use.

Same with gym membership. Get a full year membership, that way you would condition your mind na you’re in too deep and that you need to commit.

Did this for myself and i havent missed a week withiut exercising. :)
 
@anniesong43 This worked for me! I bought a smart watch with the intent to track my progress. Sobrang nakahelp kasi nahiya ako sa sarili ko ijustify yung purchase tapos di ko gagamitin para sa intended use hehe +1 sa advice na to
 
@electricthot start slowly, OP.

I don't remember kung sa Atomic Habits ba 'to sinabi pero according to that book, practice the habit of showing up.

Kung dati nasa 2-3 hours ka nagbubuhat, pwede kang magbuhat muna for 30 minutes-1 hour. Kung dati 3-4 times a week, try mong Twice a week muna. Ang mahalaga sinasanay mo yung sarili mong pumupunta ulit si Gym then work your way up.

Take your time lang and make your workout sustainable and simple.
 
@tony2468 Gusto ko lang po bumalik sa dating routine ko without giving a shock sa katawan ko then increase weights. Gusto ko lang malaman if may proper way of doing this ba?
 
@electricthot Ang goal ay bumalik sa dating routine? O ang goal ay bumalik sa dating goals mo?

Kapag sinabi mo bumalik sa dating routine kailangan namin malaman ang dating routine
 
@electricthot start at a deload i guess? bawasan mo ng 10% ung bigat ng mga binubuhat mo, dyan ka mag start, if nag squat ka dati ng 100lbs gawin mong 90lbs muna or less pa kung di ka kampante
 
@electricthot I started with doing fundamental exercises for my first week to test my strength and endurance both upper and lower body. I used bar lang for most exercises or yung lightest weight na I feel comfortable pero may tama. Saka na ako nag dagdag ng weights nung feel ko masyadong magaan na.
 
@electricthot You've been to the gym before, what's ur motivation to start? what drives you back then to go to the gym, maybe from there you can assess whether that motivation was accomplished or not, kasi if yes, maybe you need to look for another reason to start. Hirap din kase maging consistent lalo na sa pag g'gym kung wala kang goal na naka set in mind.
