Optimal gain YoY?

Trying to do a more precise job with long term cut/bulk planning and measuring weekly loss or gain rates. In the past, I have not done so and ended up on the extremes - losing to quickly (losing muscle) or gaining to fast (adding excess body fat).

What is a reasonable amount of lean mass to gain year over year?

Currently, 32 years old and will likely be 180lbs just under 10% body fat after this cut. Is it reasonable to expect I can be 190lbs at a similar body fat percentage a year from now?

@ingodsimage Lore is 1% of you is a healthy amount to gain/lose. So for your average human weighing 200 lbs, that's ±2 lbs a week.

For a slow, sustainable bulk/cut, I prefer a headspace of ±.5 lbs/week. Why, Damar? One pound a week for a year is 52 lbs. While a cut of 52 lbs might be nice for some, a bulk of 52 lbs is a lot of goddamned weight.

The body can only synthesize muscle so fast.
