I'm 23 y/o male weighing 100 kgs (220 pounds) and 6'1" (185cm) tall. I'll be starting gym for the first time my in my life from tomorrow. My goal is loosing 20 kgs(55 pounds). What are things that I should keep in my mind and can someone help me with the gym basics? I'm thinking of going to gym in the morning and go running in the evening

@chfjennylynn Weight loss will happen in the kitchen.

Without getting your food in order, you're very likely not going to out exercise a bad diet. Hitting the gym and getting some cardio in is great for your health and will burn a few extra calories.

Give the r/fitness wiki a read over and it should answer a lot of the basics https://thefitness.wiki/

@chfjennylynn Then you should be golden :)

I say this to anyone... make sure your diet is enjoyable and sustainable. You want to spend the time losing weight to build healthier habits that you'll stick with. How you eat to lose weight should be how you eat to later maintain the weight.

@chfjennylynn Fast, eat at the same time everyday, I used to hit the gym & walk, only lost 15 pounds in half a year, I fasted & lost 50lbs in two & a half months.
