What does r/fitness not understand about CrossFit?

@richard11 I haven't been kicking around this subreddit for long, but as a 11 year Crossfit trainer, here's my two cents. Crossfit programming isn't particularly special nor does it ellicit any amazing gainz. What it does do (in the good gyms at least) is create a fantastic community. People get together on a daily basis and do really hard shit together. Some of the best friends I have in this life come from exactly that, doing hard shit and then talking about it. The community and social aspect of crossfit is a bigger motivator than any special gym equipment could ever be.

The programming is not perfect but nothing ever will be. The people you meet are usually priceless though.
