Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@lalynx The idea is to do 2 different lifts… 15 min each

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@lassoiovivo I wonder how an "advanced/amped" competitive box would fair in a big metro area.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@peninnah That is very well explained and it makes sense regarding the amounts of sets. For instance on HWPO on any given week there will be ~6-8 sets of “core/pure strength” for the big groups.. squat, deadlift, presses. Then another 6-8 sets of more technique OLY liftings. All in all that...

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@diamerica Wish this existed in my area, I mostly train alone and am so happy when I get to train with someone (got some friends who are doing HWPO but we don't live closeby).

What have you done to significantly improve your conditioning

@janitrol Year of the Engine program on Assault bike. Do it after or before your training sessions and you will see a big improvement.

@hawleyray Great idea to maximize time.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@megahunky So your idea is to add another monthly payment and other sessions instead of adding 30 minutes to something that you are already there, on site, ready & warmed up... I don't see it.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@marco124 Thats what I personally do.. open gym. Sometimes I drop in on classes to do WOD when it's aligned/similar to what I had.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@dawn16 Yes but progression will be significantly slower. For instance, I've been training for ~ 18 months and for the last 12 months I've been training ~2 hours a day in average. I now have the level of the fitter people in any given box that have 4-5+ years doing CF. Only the "freaks" and...

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@thebrightside73 It's not the double but not 20-30%.. perhaps 50-60% from my personal experience. It's hard to gain strength squatting 1x a week 4 sets of 5 back squat.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@lovedandblessed Yes, I actually do... 22 months old & 10 months old actually. My wife is stay at home so it helps significantly. My reality with time isn't the same as most people so I guess my expectation are off.

@rickymargan This is exactly what we were talking of doing.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@chickenlittle Thank you for sharing your experience, I will definitely be thinking about this going forward. Maybe programming optional extra cardio/accessories (~30mins) would be better off.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@chickenlittle Thank you for your input. I am investing in a box in Panama and while I will not be managing it I was discussing it with my partner if we should do 1 class of 90 minute a day for more advanced people or just people who wants to progress faster. Some based on HWPO but toned down...

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@onidam2 The more I read people the more I tend to agree with you, it isn't only because of economics but perhaps time/workload etc. Thank you for your input.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@fisherwomen1515 Well, that is actually an excellent point! Box owner would need to charge more in order to past down decrease in potential revenues.

Why is 60 minutes classes the standard? 90 minutes classes would be much more efficient

@dawn16 For me this is the biggest argument against it. Economics won't work and I don't see people liking the idea of paying 50-70% more for their membership to offset the loss in revenues.

@slp40 Thanks you for those compelling arguments, the best I've read so far!
