hybrid functional strength programs? also... avoiding the big 4 nonsense

@sharkbait13 Yeah, have you ever watched Brian Alsruhe on YouTube? He has sandbag programming and I feel like you could just replace any of his programming that involves those movements that you don't want to do with the ones you do want to do that hit the same groups. His stuff is all about...

is fast metabolism really a myth?

@rumiakthar Quite the opposite! The bigger you are the more calories you need to maintain weight and vice versa.

Can I lose weight with just cardio?

@angelbaby35 Unless you are a small child that seems unlikely.

hybrid functional strength programs? also... avoiding the big 4 nonsense

@curtswill Ok, but it's only because I haven't had a good bench in a few years. If I was good at it I'd have a different opinion...

hybrid functional strength programs? also... avoiding the big 4 nonsense

@sharkbait13 I honestly can't think of anything more functional then being able to put something above your head, being able to sit down and stand up, being able to bend over and pick something up, etc.... (OHP, squat, and deadlift) That being said, I believe bench is the least functional...

Do y’all drink protein shakes on days you don’t work out?

@walkaway Lifting every day is beginner friendly. Anyone can do it. You shouldn't assume anything. Most of my days are full body.

Do y’all drink protein shakes on days you don’t work out?

@walkaway I lift 7 days a week and have no issues with recovery. Some days are just less intense. In fact, those days increase recovery.

    MOD ANNOUNCEMENT: DEBBIE DOWNERS

@hisangelonearth Sarcasm can be hard to read I suppose. Just to be clear I don't think it is. This is also sarcasm.

Didn’t realize I was protein deficient - what results can I expect adding it alongside my workout routine

@lucashemingway1196 Haha, it's a really easy fix luckily! I just base each of my meals around a protein first. Which is super easy because protein high foods like meat are generally low in calories too. How about some really simple changes. Berries and fat free Greek yogurt for breakfast for...

Dosas 1400 burned calories sound right?

@thethao247h No estimates are right by definition.

Is 500/month a general cost for a fitness and health coach?

@babychristian10 I do the same thing for people at $50 a month. So yeah, I wouldn't pay that much personally.

    Legs get tired quickly

@riposa I don't know how to word this any other way. You're doing something difficult that you have not done before that is designed to work a muscle and fatigue it. The more you do it the slower the fatigue on set will be as you condition the muscles to do this task. Not only is it normal...

    Legs get tired quickly

@riposa Yes, you've introduced a new and difficult stimulus that works a muscle. It's common for that muscle to feel the stimulus and become tired!

Didn’t realize I was protein deficient - what results can I expect adding it alongside my workout routine

@lucashemingway1196 Are you really only getting that much? I mean, I get more than that in a single sitting for dinner. Are you counting protein from all sources? I believe 60 grams is the minimal requirement for normal bodily functions, let alone anything to do with muscle building. What does...

    Legs get tired quickly

@riposa It is pretty common to get tired when doing activities that are made to make you tired.

    Losing strength in gym

    @ehunter I don't think it matters

    Losing strength in gym

@ehunter A deficit is by definition a deficit of energy. I would not expect to gain strength or even maintain strength after prolonged weight cuts outside of beginner gains while being energy deficient. This is why people go through bulk/cut periods for basically their entire lifting career.

Is there anything I can do that doesn’t require me to change my diet, but will still make me loose weight?

@psalms91forme If you don’t trust your trainers answer then stop paying them. You already know the answer to this. You just don’t want to do what’s required. Either do what’s required or don’t.

    OHP Tips

@antitox I'm going to go slightly against the grain here. But hopefully my 280 strict/standing OHP speaks for itself. (At 200 pounds body weight) I agree that you should bring in your grip. Think about stacking your wrists over your elbows, but pulling your elbows forward. You want your...
