“A woman shouldn’t be doing an Arnold split.”

@officehead Most men also are not going to look like him either but I’ve never heard that as an excuse for why someone shouldn’t a program lol that’s such a weird thing for the forum owner to say to someone

“A woman shouldn’t be doing an Arnold split.”

@damian79 You forgot the crunches; no point in having a giant ass if your waist isn’t tiny /s

    Pilates-tok?

@wintermint Yeah my best friend was like “my moms done Pilates as long as I can remember and she’s confused”

@josho Yes but only because I have dogs lol

I don’t understand the direction this sub has taken in the past months.

@darrendance Veganism isn’t a diet. That’s why we look for vegan products (shampoo, makeup, shoes, etc.) we obviously aren’t eating those. Therefore, vegans can be as healthy or as unhealthy as any non-vegan. Some vegans drink alcohol, smoke, do PEDS, drive too fast, etc. I eat non-dairy...

    How my gym views women

@rox485 Then why specify “girls” versus “someone stronger than you”?

    How my gym views women

@dawn16 It’s meant to shame men because it’s making fun of how they’re weaker than a woman and that’s the worst thing possible right? I appreciate your optimism though.

How do I tell a girl in the gym to leave me alone without hurting her feelings?

@jeannie36 “Hey I’m in the middle of a set right now but the trainers at the front desk should be able to answer all your questions. Nice to see you.” Then pop your headphones back on.

What are the best adjustable dumbbells for home use?

@mel101 I have Ativafit ones but my American ass needs to whip out my calculator every time because they’re in KG. Love them otherwise though and I’ve had them maybe 6 or 7 years now with no issues

DEXA says I'm obese - 36% body fat - thoughts?

@theodorus700 “Skinny fat” really highlights what we talk about with BMI in that it essentially boils down closer to “shape” than “weight”. For example, I’m 137 now, most of which is muscle. I am a size 2. I was 137 in my early 20s and I wasn’t working out, was drinking and eating junk food...

How do you pump yourself up to go hard?

@allthingsarebecomenew If I don’t train hard I won’t do well at my meets. If I didn’t sign up for meets, I wouldn’t train hard either which is why I sign up for one every 3 months. So I guess having a specific goal is helpful. Also preworkout.

May have to stop being a natty, testosterone finally checked and way low

@benstarkey29 Agreed; unless you’re competing in a tested federation in a sport who cares?

Taller ladies with very long femurs - Does Squatting Ever Get Easier?

@faithfulsteward7 I have long femurs. Squat shoes helped. Pointing my toes slightly outwards helped. Not giving a shit what my knees are doing helped. And low bar squatting helped. I will forever be jealous of my short legged friends though; they finish their squat by the time I’ve made it to...

@kentuckyblue Thank you so much for your reply and I hear you on the routine part! It was weird going from spontaneous chaos to planning out everything around nap time lol I love your content and wish you and your family well

Program Review: Candito 6-Week Powerlifting Program (3 Cycles)

@godislove32 This is what I usually do. If I need an additional rest day or kid won’t go to bed so I don’t have enough time to work out that day I just pick up the next day. Often takes me around 7 weeks to actually finish the program.

AMA: Megan Gallagher AKA MegSquats, creator of Stronger By The Day and Before The Barbell!

@susanedgar37 Hi Meg! As someone who just got back into fitness a year and a half after giving birth, I have to ask how having a baby has impacted your routine and if your goals are different now than pre-pregnancy.

Which documentaries or videos helped motivate you greatly in taking health/fitness seriously?

@villa143love I work in disability and it’s a great motivator for me. I don’t want my problems list to take up a full page. All my Covid claimants who had long Covid issues or died also had very large BMIs.

@farmerdex I find it helps me in powerlifting, I can bounce up out of it

Squats: How far do you go down?

@thiena Did you mean to say that most powerlifters don’t lift more than 110lbs or is that a typo?
