Can I install a lockable pull up bar in a hollow wall?

I got a 100cm lockable pull up bar from decathlon, but I am afraid I shouldn’t install it in between hollow walls. Any advice? I wouldn’t want to have to return it

@aletheiapraise You need to find a stud (timber) in the wall. If you screw into the plasterboard it will tear out

@aletheiapraise Hollow as, it doesn’t have vertical studs every 16”? As long as you’re on a stud you’ll be fine.

@aletheiapraise These are pressure fit AFAIK. Mine has 3x 3" screws on each end cap then its tightened into place.

What do you mean by hollow walls? Do you have a picture? All the walls have to be framed somehow

@aletheiapraise What do you mean by hollow wall? If it’s being installed in an opening or door frame there should be studs at the jambs.

@aletheiapraise If you arent anchoring it to beams you are going to either destroy the walls or your knees when u fall.

@aletheiapraise I did that mistake when I first got a pull up bar and it cracked my wall, so it’s on my doorframe now
