High Blood Pressure from KB’s

Have any of you had high blood pressure issues from KB use?

I’ve trained with KB’s since 2003, and never had issue with the original program minimum, ETK/ROP, or S&S.

This past year I switched to this protocol,

https://www.strongfirst.com/160-sec...without-a-sweat-with-a-simple-swing-protocol/

And it’s great, but I’ve also noticed my diastolic pressure to be slightly (sometimes more) elevated for the past few months. My systolic pressure is still in range.

I sleep > 7 hours a night, restful and usually (mostly) uninterrupted. This is unchanged from the past.

I fast 16 hours daily (also unchanged from the past few years). I try to get at least 70 grams of protein, minimize poly unsaturated fat, and a good amount of fruits and vegetables.

My day job is on the phone, not very stressful, but I am not one to notice.

Could adaptations from 8 plus small training sessions per day (now with my my 32 kilo bell) cause this?

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

Btw, my strength gains from this protocol have been awesome.

@jimpncc You'll get a better answer from a (good / trustworthy) doctor than from reddit, but I'm sure you know that... Otherwise the old adage of "correlation is not causation" might apply ;)

@jimpncc Don’t rely on a GP. They generally don’t have answers for anything that isn’t visible and are becoming increasingly risk averse. They are simply gatekeepers to specialist medical practitioners, whose scope of expertise is so narrow that they are only useful if you get the correct one for the suspected ailment. So perhaps start with a referral to a cardiologist and if that doesn’t get a result, a rheumatologist. As an alternative, although without personal experience, I have heard integrative doctors are a better option than regular GP’s that are heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical industry.

@paraic Agreed, my next appointment is with a cardiologist. My assumption is that they don’t have exposure to KB ballistics or the linked protocol either. But we will see.

@jimpncc Without details on your diet model, day to day stress and sleep, you won't get good answers here.

My guess is that you aren't adequately recovering from your workouts. Getting 9hrs of uninterrupted sleep makes a world of difference for me regardless of my workout program.

@adrian232 Thanks for your reply, you are right.

I’ve updated my post, but
