How do avoid/help calf cramps??

Like the title says. I’ve only had like 3 or 4 in my life (I’m almost 20; ew) and the one I just had being my 3rd or 4th. Had it around an hour ago. It’s always when I’m sleeping and I decide to stretch in my sleep or something. After it happens I’m always scared to straighten my leg and put pressure on it to walk Incase it comes back cause I can still feel where it happened. Now that I’m thinking about it, it always happens in my right calf. Anyways how do y’all recover from them and prevent them from happening in the future? I believe it happened since yesterday I did my leg routine which including one leg calf raises. I always stretch before and after.

@firoz eat bananas before or drink some chocolate milk after. and/or wrap your calf in a heating pad while sleeping. (or do 20 min. of ice followed by 20 min. of heat, 3 or 4 sets).

@firoz This happens to me sometimes if I stretch in my sleep. I've found that if I can feel it starting, I quickly swing my legs out of the bed and put my feet flat on the floor. That usually stops it in its tracks. It also works with a full blown cramp too.

@firoz When my leg cramps at night I quickly stretch it out and walk through it, it’s the quickest way to get through it and get back to bed. It hurts though. I find if I try to just rub out the cramp I end up being really sore the next day or two. I also take magnesium for them.

@firoz It usually resolves for me just sitting at the edge of the bed with feet flat on the floor. But if it's gone into a full-blown cramp, sometimes I need to stand or walk it off. I usually wake straight away when I feel it coming on and quickly get my feet on the floor before it gets worse.

@firoz I saw Alan Ritchson do a video some months back about Charlie horses and muscle spasms and muscle weakness and he swears by Trace Minerals drops
