Pushup variation exercises are some of the best bodyweight exercises for the upper body. The right variations are very effective and should definitely be incorporated into either your bodyweight workout routine or to enhance your weightlifting session.

I like to do them for a warm up, almost every training day. They must be done correctly to maximise the effectiveness of the exercise and to build muscle.

There’s pushups for chest, pushups for shoulders, also for triceps, and more.

When trying to build a bigger chest, some people go for the wide grip pushup with the elbows flared out. A narrow grip or diamond position, where the hands are close together, activates both the chest and the triceps with the shoulder-width pushup being just as effective as well.
