25(f) - 5'6" - 110 lbs...Workout routine to get strong *and* build endurance (x-post from r/fitness)?

@noelp2015 If you can't do pull ups, try for push-ups instead and keep climbing. Your climbing should help your back develop to be strong enough to do pull ups eventually!
You also could go for assisted pull-ups although I have no idea how you do assisted pull ups.
 
@noelp2015 The best way to get better at hiking is to hike. I'd workout like you said, then hike! Maybe some trail running if it's convenient.

Also, if you like it, playing soccer intramurals might help you build the endurance slowly rather than just jogging.
 
@noelp2015 Lifting to momentary failure will raise vO2 max, so yes on lifting 3x/week... lift to failure (safety first, though!).

The best way to train endurance for running is lots of low intensity running (or walking, depending on your level of fitness... get a heartrate monitor, stay
