Do you guys have opinions on Wendler's "North of the V**" concept?

@acer621 Awesome. That's great for you!!

Some of us do like having full hips and curves. I personally don't really want much visible muscle definition. My goal is simply to be strong. There is never a reason for anyone to make snarky comments to anyone about what they are eating or what their body is like. If you do that, you are an asshole through and through. This goes both ways as well, its not cool for a large person to be snarky about someone eaying a tiny salad.

I think it is important to be kind to ourselves no matter what size we are. Did you lose weight because you hated yourself and your body, or because you love yourself/body and wanted to "be better " for it? Usually, loving yourself is a more successful way to lose weight/get strong/reach your goals than shame or hatred. If shame works for you, that's great but it doesn't work for most.

That being said, I don't think the words fat or chubby are negative words. They are simply discriptors to describe someone just as tall, muscular, and brunette are.

Hope you have a great day.

@godislove19933 Honestly, I find the way he speaks/writes in general to be pretty off-putting. He sounds mean, judgey, self-righteous, and condescending.

In terms of women in the weight room, I think anything regarding changing conventional thinking can make people uncomfortable. I won't lambast someone for stating they're uncomfortable with something without fully understanding their perspective. I'd especially appreciate it if they were open to changing their mind, which is why I think having conversations about these things is good. Shutting down people's opinions just because they differ isn't often conducive to changing perspective or affecting change, IMO.

@godislove19933 It’s also just a stupid and inconsistent argument. He’s trying to say it’s not misogynistic by comparing to another misogynistic phrase, that doesn’t make any sense. He’s just trying to insult and shame people into agreeing with him.

Also, I have a lot of coworkers who seem to have little-to-no hobbies or interests in common with their wives, and I really don’t understand how that works. I will say that most of them, macho and alpha male as they are, are generally quite supportive of women lifting and doing CrossFit and will talk about badass girls they know who are crazy strong, so I think that kind of attitude is definitely in the minority.

@dawn16 I got lucky and the most big, strong, weight lifting male friend of mine is super supportive of women lifting. He got me into power liftinf purelt because he thought I'd be good at it. Years later and I still do it.

@dawn16 Oh yeah, definitely. I’m on my phone, so I didn’t really expand, but meant that weird inconsistency. It’s like he doesn’t get the connection between misogyny and linking (cis) female genitalia with weakness.
