@virginity 5/3/1 is a program designed for advanced strength athletes. As a male, if you aren't squatting 500lbs for reps it likely isn't relevant for you.
The Starting Strength system includes many options, and has a load of data compared to most other systems. I'd try out the linear novice progression of I were you. Most people can take their squat into the low or mid 300s for 3x5 on that program before transitioning to an intermediate strength programming.
The one major problem with CrossFit training is really umabitious and unstructured strength protocols or really overadvanced ones.
SS novice linear progression is 3x1.5 hours of lifting a week if you're effective. You can run/ do hit on the side.
P.s. do you have a rack for your bar at home?
