I’m so tired of hearing “it’s not like they’re going to the games...”

@devonian Who cares about “the games”... I like running and cycling as well and enter races and ain’t thinking about the Olympics. Sportsmanship is sportsmanship, if you can’t do it right don’t do it.

@devonian I'm tired of seeing the shit form from people posting videos of PRs they shouldn't attempt. Also I agree with you. Especially when we are talking about competition.

@devonian Shaving reps in class is toxic? If it's the end of a 15 min AMRAP, I can either spend the last minute getting 3 more pull-ups, or skip the last 5 reps and do 20 air squats instead.

Which option is better for my fitness?

@malgosia63 This. No one cares if you’re not putting in an Rx.

This guy at my gym literally finishes ahead of me in every workout. Then the open comes and it’s amazing how he’s only getting like 9 box step ups.

@johnquezon29 That's not shaving reps - that's scaling/modifying the WOD. Totally appropriate, but don't count those 20 air squats as valid reps if you were supposed to complete 5 pullups before moving onto the air squats. They're just work you did, which is great, but they shouldn't be scored at all or should be scored only as part of a non-prescribed WOD score. No one has a problem with someone modifying the workout to better suit their goals or limitations, only with thinking the modified WOD equals the prescribed WOD when recording their score on a public whiteboard of some sort.

@johnquezon29 I scale all the time. Just don't mark it as rx, and put a note in to show how you modified it. (the note is for myself. when we do a similar workout in future, I like to look back at how I've done it in the past to get a better gauge on what I should be aiming for).
