back in 2015, i had a membership with slimmers world kasi yun yung malapit sa amin na commercial gym (a jeep away) and i can honestly say that it was a good experience for me kasi kahit di ako nag-avail ng personal trainer, the coachers were really hands on. like they would approach me if may mali sa form ko ganyan, they also made me a routine kasama dun sa binayaran ko na package na may free 2 pt sessions.
the gym was spacious and also tinuro talaga nila yung proper use ng equipment, and kung paano ang warm up and cool down stretches para maavoid ang injury.
fast forward, i moved na rin and it’s been some time since i last went to the gym. i saw an ad na murang membership sa psp so i messaged them and i got a membership with them, paid them in cash, thinking it will be worth it.
turns out, their coaches aren’t that hands on and are not licensed physical therapists unlike sa slimmers world. so medj nasketchyhan na ako. anyway, i don’t think i’ll renew my membership with them and i’m really leaning towards just selling my membership though pupunta pa rin ako kasi baka masayang lol.
also, if di ka mag-avail ng personal training sa coaches, they won’t teach you and make you a routine. my first time sa gym the coach also didn’t teach me any warmup or cool down stretches so now my wrist is in pain.
the psp gym i got a membership in is relatively small in comparison to previous gyms i’ve been in, also konti ang equipment like even for cardio you’d have to wait for your turn kasi 2 lang ang treadmill.
despite their promotion na may “2 free pt sessions” included sa promo nila, apparently assessment lang daw yung 2 na yun and they will not give you a routine. bale, the coach will just tell you to do this and that and inform you afterwards na di maayos form mo minsan. so i think, kahit merong “tipid” factor dahil lalabas na nasa 1k+ lang membership per month, you’d also have to shell out money for personal training sessions just so that you’ll actually be able to utilize the gym and its equipments lalo na if you’re a beginner.
