Lifting while losing weight - pointless or no?

@safsafs Strength training & hypertrophy training are different, size doesn’t always equal strength but it is a good indicator. Another thing to consider is to see what a pound of fat looks like and a what a pound of muscle looks like, it’s a huge difference. The last thing to consider is that your muscles relate to your metabolism, so the more muscles you have the higher your resting metabolic rate which means that you burn more calories at rest. That why bodybuilders can eat a lot of food and for the most part still be lean. More muscles = Easier to burn fat. I would say that strength training is just as good if not better then cardio for losing weight. Yes I would focus on lifting weights with 10-15 minutes of steady rate cardio at the end.
 
@safsafs Unless your eating super clean your also going to end up losing muscle. The weight increases during the initial faze of your lifting journey are going to be faster due to the fact that you still won’t properly know of your own strength.
