@zermel It's not the same but I'm a long distance runner and getting cheered by a crowd when you're in last sucks. If I'm losing a race, I don't want the attention and it just feels patronizing even though that's not what the cheerers intend

@zermel If it was me I think I'd appreciate the moment while still cringing so hard. I die inside being the last cheered on, even though I appreciate it.

@spookydawg77 Twenty years from now, after a lot more Crossfit achievements - I bet she would put that picture on the wall. For sure an iconic Crossfit image.

I don't like getting cheered as the last one either, but unfortunately when I come last it's not an iconic image

@spookydawg77 I think it was Morning Chalk Up maybe (could be wrong) that did a poll earlier this year asking athletes if they like to be cheered on like that and the consensus from the top was a big hell no.

I have never heard a single athlete say they like being cheered on the field when in last

@thespeedboy Also being competitive has nothing to do with it. I’m ultra competitive and I hate it.

@godsknightdavid Well I don't know what to say. I think it's a weird thing to hate. It's motivating and fun. You win some and you lose some and it's nice having people around you cheering you on.

@thespeedboy I don’t find it motivating at all and find it annoying. Morning Chalk Up polled the elite athletes and the vast majority hated it.

@dawn16 Yeah, you can hear more and more athletes admit that they hate it (any cheering by other athletes) and it's a sign that CF is still an immature sport.

@grace4nan Especially at the games level. Rebecca doesn’t need you to do that for her. She’s good in her own right. She beat Tia in the skill speed medley event. Do you think Tia would have appreciated people circling around her during the single unders? Absolutely not.

@jarvis75 Seeing the athletes cheering on people who’ve yet to finish workouts just seems really demeaning to me. You’d never see it in any other sport I’m aware of

@jonjones229 Not gonna lie, hoping Emma Lawson podiums over Brandon so Brandon can chill out. She kinda turned me off when her and a podcast host were making fun of 8th place (as if they never got before) and semi-final athletes.
